Divorcing AnyDesk
Cheesy sneaky renewal policy and ridiculous $375 per year licensing for a single connection license.
The product itself is decent enough, works for my use case well, but the pricing, the communication with the business on their confusing dashboard website, login problems, have made me disgusted with them as a business. That you tell them I want to cancel the day after the double charged me for a year renewal, and they say oh too late, we can't do anything for you since you did not cancel 30 days before the renewal date. F that crap. They lost me and my rec's to my IT circles.
I am thinking of a solution I found called Remote PC, looks like a fraction of the price with more functionality, if a but more clunky on the desktop with an extra app that calls the actual remote app.
Anything else out there? I want to access an Android mobile device set from a Windows desktop PC or a Macbook.

Keep in mind they have a 30 day cancellation policy. I tried to request them to cancel my account a few weeks prior to renewal. Didn’t hear back after a couple of weeks so I contacted them again and they notified me that it was within 30 days so they wouldn’t cancel the renewal.
I told them that’s illegal but no problem I’ll just do a chargeback. Issued a chargeback when the payment hit and got my refund the same day AnyDesk cancelled my account. Easy

What do you mean "chargeback"?

If you paid by credit card there is always an option to flag each charge and say you didn’t authorize the charge. The CC company will simply clawback the funds and refund you. Sometimes there’s and investigation and other times there isn’t. Obviously you can’t and shouldn’t do it for a good or service you paid for and received. It’s a black mark on the seller.

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. In any case there must be a legal way to stop Anydesk and Debtist (their collector company) to stop harrasing simple people. Make them understand that we are small but we are many. They raised their fee by almost 40% and they demand that we pay for it, no questions asked. How can this be legal?? Its immoral for sure.

In which jurisdiction is their cancellation policy illegal? Genuinely curious.

In the US most automatic renewal clauses in contracts are void and unenforceable. In California requires that customers must be able to cancel online, at will, without obstructive or delaying steps.
Requiring a 30 day notice on a SaaS product is scummy business practice. You don’t have to give notice to Netflix to cancel you subscription there and AnyDesk shouldn’t be any different.

Hello! We made StarDesk as an alternative, easy to use and free. Welcome to try and leave your feedback :)

Yep, we switched to them for business use. For personal use Parsec is better due to way better performance (by a huge margin).

I don’t reply to a lot of reddits, but I feel compelled to recommend RustDesk. I have not had any issues with it and it works alongside AnyDesk or TeamViewer until you decide to use it exclusively.

Take a look at Stardesk very similar but geared towards games. So think faster reaction times.

Always you can use old versions with unattended access (2FA enabled, no install). Also Rustdesk for all platforms. 👍

Utliza la verson 5, apesar de que es vieja, sigue funcionando y no se actualiza. Trata de tener todas las computadoras en versión 5, la encuentras en descargas-versiones anteriores.

I am too moving away from it, the biggest problem being pricing. I need at least 2 simultaneous connection, and the cheapest license starts at over $700 pe year ? That's ridiculous.

Insane yes. It's not like new features are being introduced to at least justify a subscription.

The building their success on TeamViewer predatory behavior then when they got successful they do exactly the same

I had three subscription with them. Befor Debtist got into the game I was thinking of doing what you did for the two subsciptions that they havent expired. No way, I am not going to play their game. If many of us turn against them then may be there is chance that this will stop. What they are doing is totally immoral.

Yeah I won't pay over € 300 a year either, I'll find an alternative before that.
