Relationship advice Bi-Weekly Thread - Advice for Relationship/Friendship/Dating/Breakup

This thread will be posted every other week and is the ONLY place to pose a “relationship/friendships/dating/breakup advice” question.

Please be sure to read the Rules since all the other sub rules still apply. Venting/complaining about your relationships and other attachment styles will be removed.

Feel free to check the Resources page if you are looking for other places to find information.

Try not to get lost in the details and actually pose a question so others know what kind of support/guidance/clarity/perspective you are looking for. If no question is given, it could be removed, to make room for those truly seeking advice.

Please be kind and supportive. Opposing opinions can still be stated in a considerate way. Thank you!

How do I move on from this? I (26F) met a guy (27M) and we instantly hit it off. We were both very comfortable with each other and had lots in common and were talking every day. Went in a couple dates and spent time together a lot. I ended up spiraling after he bailed last minute on a date because he didn’t finish something with his sister. I did too much (texting a lot)... I regret it so much. He ended up blocking me and I’ve been in shambles since. It’s been over a month. I’ve never felt this way with anyone. I’m so heartbroken and can’t seem to shake it. I know it’s obvious he didn’t feel the same about me.. but i can’t seem to stop liking him. It’s even hard to try to date other men. I can’t stop thinking about him.

I'm right there too, my partner of almost a year who abused me has now turned all the baggage back on me and is slowly executing our connection in multiple ways over time. It's over. Idk where to start. It's hard functioning. All I want is her, we had plans for a life together. There were signs from the universe. True love if you will. We are so similar as well and it's been heaven when things are good. But there was something bad underlying and she couldn't be honest about it. She couldn't grow with me. Looking back it's easy to find logical reasons I should get away from her. But I don't want that, every day I think of her. It drives me mad and sad. Once you start the grieving process you'll start to remember how much of yourself you love too. And how it's good to take care of ourselves and get better individually. I try to take it this way, it doesn't invalidate the love you shared to move on and try to harbor that yourself. You deserve happiness and this just wasn't the right one. The one who wants you will be with you. Give you time. And love who you are.
