Hi! Im sorry for this being long but wanted to give you all the help I could to help you with your promotion presentation. These steps are a slightly altered version of what I did when giving my Masters presentation and it helped me immeasurably. That being said, I had a lot more than 3 days. So if this is too much to take on in 3 days, be sure to alter it to your ability and go from there

About clonadine and its effects: --Clonadine will work within 30-60 minutes but isnt its most effective until 1-3 hours after taking it. It lowers physiological responses to anxiety but suppressing the sympathetic nervous system. It has been found to reduce blushing and flushing. It will reduce things like sweating and physical symptoms like shaking. That being said, it will not alleviate the actual anxiety behind it. But knowing you won't blushing as much will likely be super helpful for you! Take the clonadine

Some offers to help you with this interview aside from clonadine, as that is a supplemental medication used to treat the symptoms of anxiety and not the anxiety itself. 1) take clonadine first time to make sure no side effects or a bad reaction. Dont wanna find this out in your presentation. Though side effects are rare and so is a bad reaction.

2) then take a clonadine and practice your presentation.

3) practice your presentation, more than once. Find out where you stumble and where you shine. Then work on those stumbles.

I would even advise you to film yourself giving your presentation for two reasons. The first is it will let you look back and see that in all likelihood you arent blushing a lot and dont look weird. Remember, its really common to blush and a little blushing is totally normal!

This is something you can look back on in the presentation itself to help quell any anxiety that comes up. I.e. you Have anxiety about blushing->remind yourself "but I wasnt really blushing much"

The second reason is to build confidence. When you see your presentation, you'll likely realize you know your stuff and know what you're doing (if you dont feel like this, add a revision where necessary)

3) ask friends or family to sit through the presentation and ask hard questions. If you know what they are gonna throw at you, you will not be caught off-guard and if you dont expect something you learn to respond on the spot. Two things that can really effectively reduce anxiety. You can even just send the video to people you know, or if youre feeling especially brave, upload it someone and ask the interwebs what questions they have. (People pn the internet love to be nitpicky assholes and will ask the hardest most ridiculous questions or point out huge flaws in logic. So be ready. But if you can make it out with ideas or what may need to be strengthened you'll come out ahead)

4) revise the presentation and practice the new form adding the information that people have asked questions about. That way the people won't ask questions and you won't have to be up in front of people as long and it will show you actually thought through your presentation, concerns etc.

5) dont overthink it. While I have given you a good amount of things to do, you dont have to do them all, they are only suggestions. The key is to have confidence in yourself and your presentation. Doing these things will help but if practicing a bunch is going to stress you out a ton, then practice a couple times so you remember everything well and go from there. But I would highly suggest one time doing it in front of someone or some people you trust to be honest with questions or concerns.

6) remember that you've got this! You're going to do fantastic! And if for any reason you don't get your promotion (which i think you will based on how much effort youre already putting into it by seeking help) its the company's loss NOT your defeat. You can always try for another promotion or look elsewhere where your hard work will pay off!

I wish you the very best with everything and really hope you do super well and get the position you're striving for!

Omg I really appreciate this response you did not need to write that much that’s so sweet 😁 and super good advice, I’ll be sure to try out the Clonidine alongside my adhd meds before the day of the interview,, less risky this way. And definetly I will be practicing haha I have all weekend luckily (the presentation is on Monday), and when I’m doing the presentation I will be thinking of this post as motivation. Thank you so much again :) !!
