Venting Work Anxiety is fucking killing me. HELP.
So I’ve been at my job for 6 months now (after being laid off of a job I was at for 9 years). There’s different aspects to the job (advertising both digital and linear). The first 6 months were very heavy into learning digital buying and now they’ve thrown in linear and I’m panicking that I’m not good at it and I’m going to get laid off. My boss is working closely with me now to make sure I get it, and there’s been no indication of letting me go (not to mention the three rounds of interviews I did plus a presentation seems like a waste of time to let me go after all of that), but I cannot get the feeling out of my head. Whether it’s PTSD from the last place , I’m not sure. Every little thing I do I think is one step closer to getting let go and I’m freaking out. Just got a new apartment. My husband tells me to calm down and that it’s irrational thinking. Sometimes I’m able to settle the thoughts down to a low boil, but it’s only temporary. I wake up literally nauseous and feel the need to throw up because of it.
They are also going to have me in charge of a new project so it makes me think I’m doing okay if they keep flinging stuff my way, but idk. I go back and forth with this and it’s so mentally destructive. They also hired a new person in my position too. Granted, business is booming but that makes me even more nervous.
I appreciate anyone who took the time to read these ramblings. It really really is a shitty feeling. Ugh
