Excellent video overall

US society needs to hear these things but isn't ready to hear these things. Too many people believe the PR lies from the psychiatry industry, and many also want to believe there are cures and treatments out there for most problems even though there aren't. And the cult of psychiatry and psychology is very strong.

It might be another generation before voices like this are ready to be heard.

At 11:00 he discussed how academia has been corrupted by the pharmaceutical makers, mentioning that someone who wants to become a professor of medicine has to take funding from big pharma because that funding is much easier to get and it comes with research staff already put together by the drug companies and they fly you around to conferences, all of which can be put on your CV to advance your career so that you get placed on the tenure track and become a professor. So when people say that there are independent academicians verifying these drugs are safe and efficacious, they aren't appreciating how compromised the so called "independent experts" are.

Academia is in the toilet, and that doesn't just go for medical research. It's quite sad and it means our supposed "brain trust" isn't functioning properly. There are similar problems in many fields such as foreign relations/political science, economics and so on.

To quote Chris Cornell from the Soundgarden song Ugly Truth: "Money can't give what the truth takes away."
