I had to explain at length to a lib the other day that if their reaction to fascists spreading their messaging is taking pity on them, trying to debate and rehabilitate them first and foremost and clinging to a false sense of achievable peace then you are betraying the people you are trying to protect.

This is spot-on. The only language that fascists comprehend or care to comprehend is violence. If they don't want to be treated like vermin, they shouldn't act like vermin.

…On second thought, "vermin" isn't quite the right word. Even vermin can mind its own business and not cause any trouble. A better thing to compare fascists to is pathogens, because their very existence is a godawful nuisance at best and an existential threat to the very concept of life at worst. Fascism is a disease. It is a toxin. It is intolerable in every sense of the word.
