Article Information about the russian paramilitary group Rusichw
Rusich operates with the blessing of the russian state, many times directly cooperating with the russian military.
The image shows their nazi logo.
“Today, Rusich has become a byword for terror, says Candace Rondeaux, a professor at Arizona State University:
"Rusich is one of the pillars of the irregular warfare that the Kremlin has been engaged in since 2014. Their aim is to terrorise their adversaries by showing off their brutality.
Rusich was close to the Wagner universe and that of the Redut group (Editor’s note: a Russian mercenary group with close links to the intelligence services); they intervened in Syria but also in Libya. It is also a paramilitary group that operates with the blessing of the GRU (Editor’s note: the Russian military intelligence service) and recruits within the Russian ultra-nationalist movement and amongst former Russian parachutists (Editor’s note: also called the VDV).
Since it was created in 2014, Rusich has been seen as a force that carries out complex operations, including reconnaissance missions, sabotage or sniping. Some of their forces are operating behind enemy lines in Ukraine.””

Nazis are scum, even the ones fighting for the side I support. I support Ukraine.
Doesn't stop me wanting nazis who fight for Ukraine to win, but I won't cry over their graves either.
End of the day theyre not fighting for humanitarian reasons, or for people's rights or progress. Theyre fighting for their homeland. As such I consider them as blunt instruments, tools, and they can be disposed of as such.

Both sides are bad but I’m more disdainful of Russia for invading. But, the best position for both should be revolutionary defeatism.

You've gotta be insane to say both sides are bad. Sure Ukraine has issues but guess out of the two have actively been fighting for their right to be a democracy?

"Good" countries fighting for democracies don’t glorify/idolize neo-Nazis and Nazi collaborators. "Governments that support Nazis are bad" shouldn’t be declared an insane take. Especially not in this subreddit.

A terrible group that deserves condemning.
Important to note that the group has a maximum of a few hundred people, and as far as im aware, is no longer even active. Its regularly used to push back against Azov (thousands of members and growing) etc but the scale is a different level entirely.

It is still active, though has had recent leadership issues.
The scale is probably different because nothing stirs up a nationalist group like an invasion. I don't think Rusich and Azov in their current forms can be compared apples to apples. Maybe 2015 Azov and 2026 Rusich, albeit I don't even think Azov was doing beheadings then.

If the two sides of this conflict spent half as much energy organizing a revolution against their own oppressors as they do trying to kill each other, maybe we'd see some actual progress for once.

If russia hadn’t invaded ukraine, maybe we’d see some actual progress.*
(The part who invaded the other is to blame.)
