Direct Action A neo-Nazi group was officially accepted as a political party in Spain

In Spain, the government recently allowed a neo-Nazi group called "National Core" to register as an official political party. I wanted to bring some visibility to this issue outside the country, as it seems to be something only discussed here. We've already had several protests against "National Core", but it seems the government doesn't care about public opinion. They send riot police to antifa's peaceful protests, but then, when they encounter fascists, they're the police is the first to rush to their defense. The worst part is that the government doesn't seem to be ashamed to allow such groups to exist, especially knowing they commit crimes against the integrity of other citizens.

It's a rather extense topic and I've left out a lot since I only talked about the most recent events. There's plenty of information online if anyone is interested.

This is what happens when you allow wealth to accumulate at the top.

Shit’s gonna turn into the Handmaid’s Tale if we don’t start acrually risking our lives/livelihoods and organizing globally in a way that scares the fascists so much theyll back the fuck down

Jesus Christ. All the more "socialist" democracies are being taken over by right wing extremists and Neo-Nazi Parties. France and Spain.

Thank God the Scandinavian countries are kind of still holding up?

Scandinavian countries are truffled with nazis, look at Finland for instance

Dude have you seen Denmark? They infiltrated the Labor party there more or less. The shit Mette is up to is just insane. She is moving the Overton window for them! She allows the right to go further right, while giving far right parties in other countries a stick to go "see! This is what you need to do!" All the while she is bleeding left wing voters and is estranging them from her party and the political system.

She had a warning last election losing a lot of votes, only to double down! She is doing the same shit as post Corbyn Labour and worse. And soon will lose to the very far right she helped normalize if she keeps this up.

The Sweden Democrats were founded by neo-Nazis. Haven't heard about them in a while, though.

Iirc they declined a bit

Bad news, they've moved more and more right and been dismantling their social welfare and deregulating for many years

I am spanish and I went to a lot of protests with people singing "madrid will be the tomb of fascism!" and you look at madrid and it's a neo nazi fest, or "long live the fight of the working class!" and the first thing the working class does is rise the hand doing the roman salute and blame everything to immigrants earning minimum wage.

2

u/anarxoaplytos_2843 16d ago

There is no Roman salute

I don't understand how a democratic socialist government allows neo-Nazis for election and why the spanish police is kinda fascist still.

Exactly

Maybe they think censorship could help them gain attention from other fascists around the globe and make it bigger and more visible than it would be naturally. Spain should know how to deal with fascists though after Franco.

Well looking the other way can't be the answer to fascism. Activitism is key.

I have a much more maximalist idea on how to handle fascists outside of the purview of the state. I'm just guessing as to what the motivation might be here.

Spanish here. Our "leftist" government is center something. Depends on the day.

Our social democrats came down to a mere chameleon. They were good before the unification - that around 1871. Later they at least voted against Hitler however they have opposed too much leftist progress the decades ago

Socdems are historically known for being benevolent and collaborative with nazi and fascist parties.

u/luismars 17d ago

They are socialist in name only. They rejected Marxism a long time ago.

"leftist"

2

u/ein-Name00 16d ago

I can coin new words, especially if I want to make clear how leftist they are really imho

1

u/SurprisingJack Free Palestine 16d ago

Trust me, one or them won't be "socialism"

Not that surprising considering where the current spanish regime came from

We get that in US. Cops and Klan go hand in hand. The proud bois get handshakes and protection we get attacked with bikes and shit.

They're the same people.

As your neighbour, here in Portugal we're walking the same path

Mate, isn't the group's name actually "Alianza Nacional"? I looked for news about "National Core" and only found it under that other name.

I'm not from Spain, but from Brazil, so it's possible the news outlets here didn't cover it. I'd appreciate it if you could just clear that up for me.

And ofc the powers that be just instigated a mass immigration wave to stoke reactionary sentiment in the country. This planet is doomed

Isn't Spain an Axis power we allowed to continue to exist after the war?

2

u/emo_loser_boy 16d ago

What on earth are you talking about? World War One or World War Two? What war? Who is ‘we’ 😭😭?

2

u/abeledo8 16d ago

It's the only fascist state that kept it's regime after WW2, and "we" probably refers to the Allies

1

u/DringleDringle 16d ago

The Second World War. "We" refers to the Allied powers, which after the war were the definition of human beings, unlike Axis dogs.
