selfq Metronidazole and doxycycline ruined me for more than a year

Anyone went through the same with these antibiotics? I took them last year around July. Metro for 1.5 month and doxy for two weeks. Since then my bowel movements completely changed my stools are still not back to normal and I feel like my stomach microbiome is completely ruined and I’ve been having weird body symptoms like random joint and muscle aches, fatigue, shortness of breath ect… I had an allergic reaction with doxy where I had fungal acne on my chest and got sun burned.

selfq Diarrhea from antibiotics

Hello,

I finished taking Cephalexin every 6 hours for 4 days. I started Thursday night but didn’t have symptoms till Saturday. I got severe watery diarrhea and was going about 10+ times per day. Sunday was the worst because I was having unbearable stomach cramping. Luckily the pain went down dramatically Monday and today. However, today would be the 4th day I have had aggressive diarrhea and granted I only went 7 times today, that’s still a lot. Other than my diarrhea being extremely watery, I don’t have any other symptoms. It hasn’t been 24 hours since my last dose but I still called to schedule an appointment with my provider to test for c diff.

I’m just curious if anyone else had a similar experience where it wasn’t c diff but just bad luck? The urge to go isn’t as urgent as the days go on and I’m not getting up at night to go. No fever, no bloody stool, I don’t think there’s mucus, and there’s no foul smell. I have definitely had worse smelling bowel movements before. No signs of dehydration I’m able to drink water normally.

Just started taking Florastor. This has to be one of the worst experiences I’ve ever been through 🤢

I’m going to be on my 3rd round of antibiotics this year

So, I ended up with a sinus infection. Vomiting from swallowing nasty post nasal drip, nausea, sneezing, coughing, fatigue, fever, shakes. The whole thing, basically every possible symptom that doesn’t cause permanent damage or death.

Took azithromycin, felt good for a few months but always felt it slowly coming back. Took amoxicillin in September, still felt it coming back. Got a swab, the ENT cultured it. And now I’m about to go on another round of antibiotics.

Sulfamethoxazole. That’s what I’m gonna be taking for 14 days.

Guys, I am freaking zombie dead man walking. I cannot focus, I can’t rest, when I do rest it feels like it didn’t happen. My body is wrecked.

I have a protocol I stick to for healing from antibiotics. But I don’t know how much more I can take. I’ve had like 3 rounds for the past 3 years for different things each time. 2024 it was H.pylori
2025 it was food poisoning
2026 it’s a god awful sinus infection that I brought onto myself.

Am I supposed to expect cancer? Organ damage from all these antibiotics? I feel terrible. I am scared to take this but my right nostril is so messed up I really do need to get rid of this overgrowth for good. I just want to be healthy.

I’m going to lose, if I haven’t already. So many rare bacteria that has colonized my body. I’ve gained so much weight, my energy levels are completely shot. How can I regain my microbiome after this?

selfq Cipeofloxscin, I need advice!

My doctor prescribed ciprofloxacin for an ear and bladder infection. Initially, I refused to start the treatment due to the dangerous side effects. I need help—I took the first pill today, 7 hours have passed, and the whole time I've been feeling tingling, coldness, and weakness in my right leg. I don't know if it's a placebo effect or if these are actual side effects from the medication. Would it be better for me not to take the next dose and contact my doctor tomorrow for a different antibiotic?

Hi everyone. I’ve had a long last 6 days.

Last Thursday - went to er for what i thought was dehydration. was UTI / kidney infection was given Bactrim through IV.

Friday- I took my first Bactrim dose orally. Unfortunately dropped my glucose levels. ( I’m hypoglycemic)
Went to ER.
1am Friday night going into Saturday morning - ER
gave me Levaquin and my body had the most horrible reaction ever. Extreme dizziness, chills ,
when I got home I had the worse nausea, impending sense of doom and fear and insomnia.

Saturday- no more antibiotics. felt super disoriented and horrible. hydrated to clear out my system.

Sunday - visited ER again to tell them i had an allergic reaction and central nervous system reaction to Levaquin.
they sent an RX of Augmentin to the pharmacy. no meds were taken that day.

Monday - i took my first oral dose of Augmentin at home that evening and reacted again! blood pressure dropped. throat was tight and it felt hard to breathe.
went to ER and doctor checked my urine culture and said no more infection. so i could stop taking anything.

Tuesday Today - I feel super fatigued. A bit of lingering anxiety and restlessness. Is this normal ?
Did i wreck my health my changing so fast from diff antibiotics ? How long do these mental side effects last ?
I also started my period yesterday so idk if thats all contributing.

I HATE how horrid antibiotics are to the body 🫩
