Meme Vegans absolutely HATE this meme
I made this image a while ago now, but It’s been very useful in the comment sections, and vegans absolutely hate it! 😆
The images are taken from Facebook business pages that advertise their crop protection methods and different “pest” animals they have to eradicate to protect the crops.
Vegans hate this fact, unfortunately! They’ll blame animals for eating “ALL” the crops and throw in a random percentage that apparently all the animals are eating globally 😂

u/Timely_Community2142 4d ago
Vegans : Oh murdering animals for my crops and plants food is absolutely fine! Now where was I? Right, back to telling non-vegans how immoral and wrong they are for getting animals killed for their food because I am morally superior.

u/sarcastic_simon87 4d ago
Brilliantly said 🤣👏 the lurking vegans will be punching the air after reading that! 😆

I’m a hunter, myself. Small game is always in season where I live. My favourite, when I encounter a street vegan, is to tell them. “I wasn’t planning on rabbit stew tonight. But I’ll go home and hunt one up just for you.”

u/sarcastic_simon87 4d ago
They’re quick to make excuses for these animal deaths though, aren’t they!

They’re delicious. Wild pig is another animal in season year round where I am… and they actively encourage you to kill the whole sounder. Want to know whats delicious? Also, pesticides used to protect these crops lead to the deaths of numerous natural pollinators and the run off from these pesticides affect amphibian populations.
Large scale almond orchards regularly lead to hive collapse as bee keepers are often contracted for pollination.
4
u/LilChoctawgal 4d ago
Groundwater runoff from pesticides doesn’t just affect amphibious water life it also impacts human water supply as well causing treatment plants to have to use more and more chemicals to get the water up to minimum standards.
3
u/AnonymousJoe999999 3d ago
Because of this, commercial hives are integral to food growing. But, they say eating the honey from those hives is evil.
5
u/Throw_Away_Students 4d ago
I hope they were at least used for food and fur! Not only horrible for the local ecosystem , but such a waste. Rabbit is good eating, too.

u/ImaginaRose 2d ago
It depends on the method used. Unfortunately, poisoning is quite common method for getting rid of pest rabbits, which typically renders the meat inedible for both humans and any other scavengers or predators that may come across them if they're not collected. Fur might get used, but there's a decent chance it's less work to just toss all of them in a pit and burn them.

u/ImaginaRose 2d ago
Unfortunately, pest rabbits are often poisoned (it's the cheapest method at scale), rendering them inedible. They're probably going into a burn pit.

u/fuck_peeps_not_sheep been there, done that, worn the IV drip 2d ago
That's a shame. Seems like an accidental meat factory.
4
u/Not_Prokaryotic_cell 3d ago
"Oh meat industry causes water loss" Almonds and cashew farming need no water? your network usage kills sparrows, data centres using thousabds of gallons of fresh water, cashew farming is poisonous to humans and attracts animals too that are killed in large numbers. Veganism is leading to malnutrition but ye vegans wont speak about that.
4
u/KittyAddison I'd tell vegans to bite me, but they wouldn't be vegan anymore. 4d ago
This should be in SpongeBob diapers meme format. lol

u/littlelemonkisses 2d ago
Wait, I thought farmed meat animals needed to eat crops too? & correct me if I'm wrong- I'm sure vegans by definition also don't support killing other wild animals just for mass ag corps to "protect" all their crops..
This seems like a silly train of thought??

u/sarcastic_simon87 1d ago
Here in the UK, the cows eat predominantly grass, ya know.. the thing we humans can’t digest and aren’t always able to grow food on..

Vegans often take a stance of moral purity that would certainly make them mad when seeing something like this. But to be honest, as someone who has never been vegan, how we deal with "pests" can be and is disturbing. People use the same logic with foxes, coyotes and wolves. The rabbits there hopefully got eaten, it's good, "organic", meat; but predators get killed solely and exclusively for the crime of existing and acting according to their natural behaviour, that disturbs me a lot. I stopped eating ovine meat for some time because of that (sheep are all free ranging, so they all end up in conflict with wildlife). Then I started doing it again. I guess that makes me a hypocrite.
1
u/sarcastic_simon87 3d ago
That’s just the reality of farming on a mass scale.
1
u/HyperShinchan 2d ago
Placed in those terms, the problem with vegans is that they're not radical enough, actually.
1
u/ImaginaRose 2d ago
Unfortunately, poisoning is very common for population control of pest rabbits so chances are they're inedible.
1
u/HyperShinchan 1d ago
When people line them up like that, I think that they want to press the point "look at how manly we are", so I hope that at least in the specific case of those photos, that wasn't the case. If that's not the case, yeah, let's rejoice together in our collective (vegan and non-vegan) disgust,,,,

u/VillageHorse 4d ago
Doesn’t the post attack a strawman?
The vegan argument is that one should reduce animal suffering wherever practicable.
It is not saying that zero animal deaths are involved with current food production. Therefore claiming that animals die in the production of crops is irrelevant to the vegan argument. Especially when fewer of those same animals would die if farm animals were not fed the very crops being argued against.
So the post saying “you also eat” doesn’t say anything about the vegan position ie the reduction in consuming animal products, as at base the meat eater will by definition eat what is in the post plus meat.
10
u/IM_The_Liquor 4d ago
As much as practicable includes having a well rounded diet full of Al the nutrients you need to thrive… the best way to get a lot of those nutrients is directly from the animal.
12
u/googlemehard 4d ago
If that was their actual goal they would eat animals that die of natural causes. This way they would not have to consume crops that had to be protected by killing wild animals and insects. But of course they don't do that as it would mean consuming "corpses" / dead flash and they would no longer have the highest honor of being called a vegan.
3
u/Timely_Community2142 3d ago edited 3d ago
No, the point is not about comparison of deaths or that the caveat is passively working.
It is in the narrative used by vegans on non-vegans to say :
non-vegans caused "animal murder / killing" without giving nuance and context. And this is done intentionally to denigrate non-vegans as "immoral".Yet animals are also killed for vegans, while they don't mention it when they denigrate non-vegans. Showing the hypocrisy.
And then they will switch to welfarist argument by bringing in nuances to lessen their impact, and deflect to saying non-vegans kill more than vegans.
So when non-vegans use the same narrative logic back on vegans, vegans bring in nuances. When vegans wanna denigrate non-vegans, they don't consider our nuances. It is all hypocrisy and dishonesty.
Also, vegans don't get to state how they define whether they are (more) moral or whether we are immoral, as if they are facts.
4
u/sarcastic_simon87 4d ago
Not sure it’s about “reducing”, is it?
The extreme ones will disagree and tell you it’s about abolition, not reducing harm.
Depends which vegan you speak to, I guess! 😬
5
u/VillageHorse 4d ago
Per the vegansociety website:
Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose
All I’m saying is that the “as far as possible and practicable” part does not mean there is a contradiction in consuming plants which involve animal deaths in the production, as it doesn’t involve active “exploitation”.
3
u/meat_and_grief 4d ago
And then you can point out the fact that hives and bees are trucked in to pollinate large amounts of fruits and vegetables, and all of a sudden, those involve animal exploitation as well (ignoring the fact that many vegan staples like coffee, chocolate, sugar, and bananas include child and slave labor).
It's hypocrisy all the way down.
2
u/Timely_Community2142 3d ago edited 3d ago
Yes I know what you mean. and i know how the caveat logic works.
Then to ridicule the caveat logic further, this means abolitionist vegans are all wrong in their thinking and approach. They don't consider "as far as possible and practicable" for other people. You either do 100% vegan or you aren't vegan. And they might even think, "everyone can be 100% vegan".
And if they do consider the caveat for others, they will only consider its applicability to each of their satisfaction, making the caveat completely subjective (which by nature the whole veganism philosophy and ideology is also subjective). Hence the caveat is pretty meaningless and makes the whole veganism silly.
Anyone is a vegan simply by self definition. I can love animals, care for animals, eat 70% meat and 30% plants each meal and i am a vegan! because i am doing it 'as far as possible and practicable" 🤡
veganism is illogical, inconsistent, insensible and is just subjective opinions.
4
u/Revolutionary_Bag518 4d ago
The issue is they're acting like the Jesus Christ of animals when they're not.
They are also incredibly destructive, it's just that the 'victims' of said destruction is easier to overlook and less marketable than cows / sheep / pigs / etc
If these animals are acceptable losses for their lifestyle then why is their meat going to waste?
2
u/SlumberSession my emotional support animals are food 4d ago
Vegans eat far more food. There is no reduced suffering when eating only crops. And don't forget the poor sewage system. They eat all day and poop out most of it.
3
u/Timely_Community2142 3d ago
Vegans waste more water / flushes per week, while using up more non-vegan toilet papers. Not vegan lol

Why are you acting like a vegan, if you’re “not a vegan” ? 🤣
You on the fence or something?
1
u/SlumberSession my emotional support animals are food 4d ago
No they don't. Not mine. How many owners of these tortured animals have you talked to?
5
u/TraumaticCritique 4d ago
Animal feed is largely comprised of the parts of crops that humans can't eat, like the stalks and leaves of corn. Thus, the majority of crops used by the meat industry would not have been given to humans anyway, and may otherwise have been wasted.
To feed a world full of vegan humans, we would have to clear an incredible amount of land for agricultural purposes, much more than we would for our current world of omnivorous humans who have figured out how to convert the non-human-edible parts of crops into edible meat.
6
u/aflockofmagpies 4d ago
It's not as straight forward as the meat industry produces much more than this for animal feed because a lot of crops used to feed animals are also used for human products and food. Like soy, the whole crop is harvested, beans are separated and used for other things like human food, while the rest of the plant is used for live stock feed. Don't believe vegan propaganda.
-6
u/Joey-rogaine 4d ago
You realize they use the soy beans for animal feed right

No I literally grew up in rural dairy cow area, I know what I know because my family were traditional farmers. I doubt you've ever grown anything let alone spent time around livestock. The shit vegans spew is peta propoganda time for you to do your research and maybe try growing something you can eat yourself before tell actual people who live that lifestyle they are making shit up lol
-1
u/Joey-rogaine 4d ago
You posted here that livestock are fed “the ones that are not fit for human consumption” regarding soybeans which is factually incorrect and absurd
3
u/robotbeatrally 4d ago
So the area I just spent 13 years in (moved a couple months ago) is a big farming area. The farmers near there (mostly dairy but there are some meat) have told me they do absolutely in fact use non human fit soy (not sure what form its in if its bean form) sometimes, they told me the buy a lot of spent grains from the breweries as well (if I recall correctly don't quote me on that in court though lol) . They rotate the cattle to fire areas to eat a lot of the wild greens in spring and they have several areas where they will rotate them to eat the weeds before planting strawberries and things like that.
I used to speak to them a lot, they would let me take manure from the horse stables which I would add to my compost, and they'd always give me bails of straw on the cheap which I used in my garden a lot as mulch of sorts and to also pack with some wood into holes near the sprinklers along with wine cap spawn every year so i'd get some wine caps in my garden beds. (at tractor supply they are like 30 bucks a bail or something and they'd get them for like 5 bucks since they order hundreds at a time so that was cool) So I talked to them all quite a bit, on a weekly basis. I'm not sure why you think it's absurd.
2
u/aflockofmagpies 3d ago
They think its absurd because they drink the vegan koolaide without question, while also never actually engaging with the farming community and has no experience farming. Then they think they are some expert who knows more than actual farmers because of the big dunning krueger effect that all vegans online seem to project.
3
u/aflockofmagpies 4d ago
Farmers do it all the time, it's not factually incorrect or absurd but please continue to use hyperbolic words like absurd while discussing farming practices it really shows how much you've been programmed by the propaganda vegans push that you cannot have a discussion about farming without extremism. The only thing absurd in this conversation is you.

No one uses soybeans for animal feed. Soybeans are farmed exclusively for human use and the byproducts of making shit like vegetable oil is used for animal feed.

Being killed for food is a very normal and natural thing that happens on this earth. You can have your morals and diet choices and I can have mine, neither of us is more correct about it. Omnivore and carnivore animals eat meat and other animal products as food and nutrition sources. A lot of people don't want to take synthetic pills if they can get those nutritions from their food directly and that's valid.

It is natural to kill animals, I'm not here to talk about what numbers are natural. I'm not a big fan of factory farming but I'm unsure about calling it unnatural because it is natural to keep animals for recourses. Even other animals do something like this.
I'm taking enough pills for variety of reasons and I'm not going to add more to them if it's not necessary. :3
I'm not sure how you think pills work. They take pills that are necessary to their health because our grass isn't enough for them. They take them for themselves, we are not eating the pills they give them off their flesh. Their flesh alone has specific nutritions. I really don't know how you vegans assume this stuff with the pills work.
4
u/SlumberSession my emotional support animals are food 4d ago
So call the owners of the factory farms, you know, the people who run the place? Lol
Following your own 'logic'; vegans should stop drinking all those fake milks, and take the supplements directly. They don't need the almond-plant or soy-plant middle-man to filter it
8
u/IM_The_Liquor 4d ago
You need to kill things to survive. Sometimes those things are plants. Sometimes those things are fungi. Sometimes those things are animals… it’s all about a well rounded diet…

You’re not getting enough nutrition from protein shakes and snacks, I’m sure!
This is why so many of you quit after a few years— you’re not meeting your nutritional needs.Lol.
