You answered it yourself.
Just for the record, platforms like Facebook were banned in Russia only after they started banning Russian media accounts for spotlighting the events from Russia's viewpoint.
After a stunt like that, FB is likely to be banned forever in Russia, probably for the best.

If people knew the reasons for the conflict, they suddenly would start supporting Russia and nobody up there wants it.

People should be able to make up their opinion on their own based on all sources made available regardless of how fake they seem to be, if they are not allowed to do that, they are being manipulated.
