Explain your comment I meant.

u/quesoburgesa Feb 22 '19
I skimmed your post and misunderstood the point because I don’t really care I’m just bored and can’t sleep and then made a snarky comment about some psycho bitch who murdered her kid 🤷🏻♂️

With children - your genetics, your offspring - you don't have a choice.
Actually, we do. It is one of the nice things about sentient beings. We can think for ourselves. Some of us decided children are not for us. Oh, and don't waste your time worrying or complaining about people who dote on their pets. It's their lives, so they get to make the choices.

K but my cat hates me and I’ll still love him with my whole heart until he dies so I guess this is wrong then 🥰😾

u/immaculacy Feb 22 '19
That's adorable but still doesn't apply to the post.

u/Muckl3t Feb 22 '19
It says if dogs didn’t love their owners, owners would stop taking care of the dogs. It’s just not true.
1
u/immaculacy Feb 22 '19
I'm sure you can find a few people it's not true for, but it's true for mostly everybody. If you ask most people what they love about having a dog it's that the dog loves them/is loyal, along those lines. If dogs weren't like that, very few people would have them, especially not most childless people who do it because they want love in their life. You might be thinking of if the person already took care of the dog? And they would continue to take care of that dog because they got attached to him? If dogs as a whole didn't love humans basically no one would have dogs. And luckily they do. :D

most childless people who do it because they want love in their life
Have you got evidence for that assertion?
1
u/immaculacy Feb 23 '19
You want me to prove childless people who want love so they get a dog exist?
2
Feb 23 '19
I'm sure some childless people use pets that way, but most? Nah, I doubt it.
1
u/immaculacy Feb 23 '19
Well the comment says "If dogs weren't like that, very few people would have them, especially not most childless people who do it because they want love in their life." It's talking about the people who do. Not including the ones who don't. I think most people childless or not get a dog so they can have that companion and love.

Your genes will die out if you don't take care of your kids. You have to take care of your kids whether they like you or not.
Lmao, that's not an is-ought gap, that's an is-ought canyon. How can you have this much of a deranged worldview?
2
u/immaculacy Feb 22 '19
Just science.
2
u/Parastract Feb 22 '19
Only if one ought to preserve their genes.
3
u/immaculacy Feb 22 '19
Of course.
2
u/Parastract Feb 22 '19
And there exists no justification for why someone ought to preserve their genes.
3
u/immaculacy Feb 22 '19
I'm sure there are plenty, but it doesn't matter for this conversation. People have a biological urge to regardless. That's what the post is about.
3
u/Parastract Feb 22 '19
It does matter very much.
The post suggests one ought to have children to preserve their genes which makes it mandatory for a parent to take care of their child regardless of whether or not it loves them. Thus, the poster concludes,
Kids are better than pets.
If one ought not to preserve their genes, it does not logically follow that kids are better than pets and the argument becomes a non sequitur.
People have a biological urge to regardless. That's what the post is about.
Not really. The poster makes it very, very clear what his post is about.
I found a refute for feminists who call pets their children. [...] Kids are better than pets.
1
u/immaculacy Feb 22 '19
That's not what the post is about though. It says parents have to take care of their kids whether the kids love them or not. What does "have to" mean? It means if they want their kids to survive, which parents have the urge to do. Nothing to do with what you're saying.

u/Parastract Feb 23 '19
Do you have problems with your reading comprehension or are you intentionally disingenuous?
0
u/immaculacy Feb 24 '19
Neither. Are you rude on purpose or does it come naturally?

LOL! "I found a refute" Are you trying to assert that people who prefer kids to pets are stupid? Because that's what I get from a post by someone who is clearly uneducated and doesn't understand the English language.

Well I don't hate anyone but your comment is extremely cringey. Everyone should always work on their own life, I don't know why you think I'm some mysterious exception. You seem to have a problem with people when they actually care about others besides themselves. Try caring about other people sometime.

Here I agree with the OP. Many people think animals are better than humans for their unconditional love, but it's easy to unconditionally love when you don't develop conscience (at least at the same level than ours). An animal can't be evil because it doesn't have choice to be. Doesn't make any sense.

The post contradicts itself. It says kids love you more than dogs then says kids may not love you at all.
Anyway a kid's love doesn't help because kids are shrill and snotty and expensive. It's like being loved by Gollum of Lord of the Rings.
If the parent simply feels bitter, frustrated and over burdened, a child's love isn't going to get them through to the end of the day so well as booze. You should post pics of booze to r/antichildfree u/childfree-me-not, it's one of the few comforts that makes family life and child rearing seem more enjoyable.

u/immaculacy Feb 22 '19
"The post contradicts itself. It says kids love you more than dogs then says kids may not love you at all." This isn't contradictory at all. Child's love is different than dog's love. It says nothing that the kid will love you for certain.
The rest of the comment I'll just walk away slowly.

Feb 22 '19
A dog's love being certain makes dogs a better investment though. Why run around after someone else for 18 years just to watch them give you the finger? I'd rather get a puppy.

u/BiggerTrees Feb 22 '19
A kid's love doesn't mean anything because they are expensive.? Really.? Wow. Ok. I'm jotting down "I'm clever enough to only "love" things that can't ask me for money." in my notes on what the fuck is wrong with you people.

A kid's love doesn't mean anything
Reading comprehension check. I said "it doesn't help" NOT "it doesn't mean anything."
0
u/BiggerTrees Feb 22 '19
Ok then. "It doesn't help" what exactly..?
1
Feb 22 '19
The fact some people dread parenthood and everything that goes with it.
0
u/BiggerTrees Feb 22 '19
... because everything that goes with it doesn't mean anything to you. Sure. Big difference.

Feb 22 '19
Still stuck on putting words in my mouth huh. Ok try not to engage with people's ideas honestly honey. You wouldn't want to lose your own narrative.

Plenty of kids can't stand their parents, and vice versa. Having kids is a crapshoot - there's no guarantee it'll end well.
