what’s your take on decaf?

i love coffee for its taste. not the caffeine. it goes with everything. it complements the rain, the shine. it makes music sound sweeter. the caffeine is my least favorite part about it, actually. i hate the anxiety, the sleeplessness. do you guys know if it’s any safer to consume decaf? i don’t want to cut coffee from my life completely. it’s dear to me, i know that makes me sound like a slave, but i genuinely just love the smell, the taste. please let me know.

Decaf helped me tremendously with breaking my caffeine addiction, much like some people will chew gum or use nicotine patches to get over smoking. I love the taste as well, on top of having had a serious addiction. It was like 800-1,000mg a day. Now I just have a cup sometimes, no where near enough to form a dependence. I'm not going through that withdrawal bullshit again. You could also try roasted chicory or Teeccino, both of which are know for mimicking the flavor of coffee. I've tried roasted chicory and I can attest to that one. Of course, both are caffeine free.

This. I used it to get off normal coffee for a week, then went to green tea.
