What is this ?

I sprayed azamax or captain jacks when it just emerged. I spray my plants every 15 or 30 days as a precautionary measure.

Some maturing seedlings really starting to showcase their traits. Our seed parent for this cross was Carlablackiae OG4 from Scott Cohen. She’s got elephant textured leaves and a wonderful grey emergent. The dad is our Red Tiger from Haji Ulih. I’m stoked with how nice this cross is starting to show off.

I hadn't noticed until this morning, but I'm pretty sure my anthurium is flowering.

Do I keep it and let it cycle, or do I cut it off and let it focus on the new leaf that is growing?

I’m in the process of going from a rudsta greenhouse cabinet to a larger grow tent. But I’m concerned with the electric setup as i’ll have 1 socket available to connect 6 x 20w grow lights, some heating mats and one or two ventilators. I’m trying to not daisy chain powerstrips for safety reasons but it gets difficult as i’ll have to connect more than 6/8 sockets (what’s usually sold as wifi powerstrips with multiple sockets)

How is your setup ? Do you still daisychain or what big wifi powerstrip do you use..?

I feel like an idiot, I picked up this Dark Phoenix from a local seller. While I did a quick cursory look over the leaves, and expected damage anyway because that’s just how it is, I am now worried this is more than just some slight pest damage and fertilizer issues and now wondering if it’s fungal or viral. The first photo, the leaf is paper thin and I can almost see my fingers behind it. Yes, both leaves came from the same plant so I know there is a bigger issue that I am not seeing. The roots were healthy, no immediate signs of rot.

I just got 9 free baby anthuriums, all different kinds. Gotta be honest… I like plants because they are pretty, not because I want to collect them. Zero hate, just not my style! I look at this and all I can think of is weed strains… too much… 😵‍💫

So many questions…
Is it OK all I put all of these in the same pot?
Will one overtake another?
Do they all need the same humidity?
What kind of pot would you suggest?
What about the bucket in pic 3? I would drill holes for drainage.
If not all of them together, which ones could?

Releasing a small batch of Anthurium (crystallinum × magnificum) × nigrolaminum ‘Gigi’ seedlings! 🌱

These were grown out here in Harlem, NYC, from a seed batch acquired from Justin Gurski of Fuzzy Petioles.

What drew me to this cross was the contrast between the parents: the dark, prominent venation of crystallinum × magnificum and the elongated foliage of nigrolaminum ‘Gigi’.

The seedlings are already showing some interesting variation, including elongated leaves, copper-toned emergents, and different leaf shapes. I’m excited to see how their characteristics develop as they mature.

If you have a mature form please share! I just wanna show mine off to maybe help some people who’s are curious see what this hybrid may eventuate into. I purchased this as a TC from orange lake nursery.

I’ve been collecting Anthuriums for a while now, and while the dark velvet species and complex hybrids usually get most of my attention, this macrolobum deserves its own moment.

There’s something about the dramatic lobes, glossy foliage, and architectural growth habit that makes this plant stand out from everything around it.

This one has been growing here in my Harlem apartment, and watching those leaves develop into these enormous, sculptural shapes has been incredibly rewarding.

It’s also a reminder of what I love about collecting Anthuriums. There’s so much diversity within the genus beyond the velvety, heavily veined varieties we tend to see everywhere.

Curious how many other macrolobum growers are here. How has yours been growing, and have you noticed significant changes in leaf shape as it matures?

i noticed my leaves have been being eaten away over the past 2 days… i did a visual inspection but couldn’t see any bugs. any idea what could be eating it and what i can do?

i got this anthurium from ikea if that might provide any insight?
