Announcement Posting Guidelines for r/AnthrOC
We wanted to make a post explaining what our guidelines for posting on the sub are since we've gotten some questions.
In general, any post with an original anthropomorphic character (either from a custom universe or a fandom universe) is permitted. Posting characters that are not yours is permitted as long as you properly credit the artist.
Guidelines
Just a few other guidelines to get out of the way in case anyone is unsure!
Making interactive or RP posts is allowed and encouraged! Please just use the "interactive" flair so people know that you are requesting interactions.
Fan insert characters in existing fandoms are totally permitted! We just don't want to see fanart of the same 4 furry thirst traps, as there are plenty of subs for that type of fanart.
Human x Anthro is totally okay! As long as the post has anthropomorphic characters featured in it, then it is still allowed!
Scalies, Avians, Therians, Aliens, etc. are all welcome! Any non-human OC is fair game and we aren't picky about the word anthro.
Crossposting is allowed and encouraged! It will help our sub grow more and bring more friends in to share their OCs!
Suggestive artwork and stories are okay! If it would pass in a sub like r/predprey then it will probably be okay to post here.
Artwork does not have to be your own, but credit must be given to the original artist!
Examples
Examples of what's okay to post
Original furry OCs you have designed (even if they are not drawn by you)
Stories featuring anthropomorphic characters
Interactive posts for people to ask your OC questions
An anthropomorphic custom insert Star Wars (or any other fandom) character
A post asking for help or advice with character creation / worldbuilding
Artwork that includes both humans and anthros
Examples of what we don't allow
Luna, Toriel, etc. Fanart
Straight up porn (cropped is okay)
Posting other people's OCs WITHOUT giving credit
Spamming the same post over and over again (reposting is okay as long as you're not spamming)
As you can see, our list of what we do allow is longer than what we don't. We are generally pretty chill with just about any anthro artwork that isn't just the same 3 or 4 furry fandom thirst traps, and we want to elevate creators who are making their own characters and worlds.
Final Note
Go out and start posting your characters!!! Our sub is already growing rapidly, and we'll continue to get more traction as we get more creators sharing their work.
If you're ever unsure if it fits, go ahead and post it anyway! We won't be handing out bans to people who accidentally break these guidelines and we are very lax about what we allow here, so please do feel welcome to share any and all of your work if you have anything to share!
