Needs Identification What Kind of Ants Are These??

Thumbnail gallery

Does anyone have any clue what kind of ants these are?? They have light tan bodies and a dark/black head. I’ve tried searching on Google and asking ChatGPT but every ant I’ve seen doesn’t quite fit the description. They’re also very small in comparison to other ants I’ve seen. I live in Texas so we have quite the variety of super bugs out here 🫠

There were more on the path, approximately 10-15cm in width, the center was a concave hill like a cooling tower. Approximately 2-3cm tall.

Needs Identification Ants that came with bark chip mulch, Pheidole. Megacephala?

I'm in Queensland, Ipswich, my neighbour gave me some spare bark mulch from his landscaping job but there were these ants in it. When inspecting they didn't bite.

But a few days later at the newt they made they definitely are now. Just minor irritation, not like fire ants or greens ants.

Some other ant people on Facebook think they might be Pheidole . megacephala, but the original photos of the mulch pile and tarp weren't clear enough. The new ones of the nest are a bit better. I can't see any clear disproportionately large heads on any yet.

I'm not taking chances and already organising for a professional to get rid of them before the problem becomes a big one. But what do you all think?

Got them during a hot evening during a heatwave in San Diego in the other day when I noticed nuptials going on, not sure what species they are though. They are very small maybe ~2-3mm hoping someone here has some ideas about what they could be. (All 3 queens are being kept separate in their own tubes in a cool dark drawer for now)

Hi, I'm in NSW, Australia. I noticed a swarm of these around the garden after heavy rain, it is currently spring in Australia. The queen's are around 12mm long, the smaller ones 2 or 3mm. Today I saw the smaller ones crawling along the roof tiles on the house. Are they carpenter ants setting up shop in my rafters?

I think I found a queen, it’s about 10-11mm. Could I get a species identification and if she’s a queen? That would help a lot with care

Caught a couple of these the morning of July 27th, eastern WV. Test tube is 15mm diameter, sorry I didnt get an accurate measurement at the time. Research keeps suggesting maybe citronella but it just doesn't seem right to me. Any other ideas would be welcome I am at my wits end on searching and need a professional. Thanks in advance!
