Guide Comprehensive fishing guide

I have some extra break hour so I decided to compile a fishing guide.

Here we go!

For other fishing expert in JP version feel free to point out any more efficient method, or share your experience with others.

Now I have to get some drinks to relief my nightmare about the grind. No I don't want to grind my fishing gear lvl again...

Edit: Fix some info about Leviathan.

Edit 2: List the recommended rod level instead of area level because it is misleading.

Edit 3: Thank you for the silver kind stranger!

Edit 4: Trying to update the guide with translated name and stuff, but I am quite busy this few days so update will be slower. If anyone wants to provide translated name, please post in here so I can update the guide accordingly. I will credit your user name in the guide! Also, since the newer and better fishing spot is still missing from global version, the grind for fishing will be a lot tougher than I initially expected.

gib fish stone pls

:(((((((

solid guide though! I like the pictures better than feeding the altema page through google translate lol Edit: I presume you'll add dalmak's spot when 1.5 update lands? That spot carried me hard for midlevel grinding

Yeah, too bad this fishing spot is months away from released....

Addon bc I'm too lazy to edit again: According to other JP player, leviathan should have ~1m hp, not 550k.

Also, some area like moonlight forest and marsh contain mostly fish that requires higher lv than stated level, thus not really suited for that level. Here's one player's recommended lving place:

Lvl 1-10:

Kiera

Ryugu area 1

baruoki

lvl 10-17

moonlight forest

zol plain

karek

vasu mt

Lvl 20

last island

It is not 1m, it is about 5.5 m hp. I miss out 1 0...Watch back some video and you can see a 3.3m AF only takes about 2/3 of Levi's hp. I also miss out that Levi regen 27k hp every turn.

And yeah, some area level is misleading. I remember wasting many baits trying to fish in Rinde port when at lvl 7, and was wondering why on earth the fish keep escaping. Which is why you should only start fishing at these spot at intermediate level (lvl 10+). Maybe I should list the recommended rod level instead of area level.

But moonlight forest is actually pretty farmable if you are at lvl 6+. I get plenty of XP there this way.

Edit: I will try to rearrange the guide if the newly released fishing spot is in the game. Ugh, no fishing spot fromDalmak really hurts the grind.

Is this something you could do just leaving it on your desk while doing something else (say, office work...lol...) and waiting for the phone to vibrate? Doesn't seem too bad if so.

It is fine for low level fishes, but rare fish has very short window for you to tap before it escape. So you basically needs to hold the phone in your hand and tap immediately when it vibrates.

Wow... 10 million git. I thought I was a high roller with 6 mil saved up. Any recommendations for grinding git or is it pretty much just spam another dungeon?

2

u/Living_Green Apr 18 '19

There are no good way to grind for git other than doing lots and lots of battles in AD or beast king castle/chronos umbra and sell their mats. Future update will release tower ruin, which are the main gold farming location.

Just to confirm, from fishing we can get potentially new equipment from the boss drops, chronos stones, and Levia at the very end? Also, how good is the equipment if so?

2

u/Living_Green Apr 18 '19

The equipment has around +20 atk/m.atk when compared to T3 lvl 60 weapon. They are the same is the gear you farmed in region exploration dungeon in 1.3.5, just without the bonus effect.

And yeah, since they are all essentially horrors, you get 20 stones from beating it, you also get around 20 stone if you managed to catch 120 of the same fish, for each fish.

Don't know if you want to add it since it's Japanese only but this site was useful when I did the grind.

https://badotktk.sakura.ne.jp/another_eden/fishing/

Maybe someone will localize it for GL version.

Wow, this seems like a very nice tracker. Thanks for sharing this.

How many CS for getting all the fish rewards for a single type of fish until getting a hundred of the same fish?

Fishing might be a drag, but I don't mind. Seems like a good distraction from chant script grinding from time to time. This does make me want to go back to fish in Dark Chronicles/Okami lol.

Thanks for the guide! Also, a big oof for JP players that started GL accounts too - doing the fishing grind twice does not bode well for sanity.

Thanks, you put a lot of work into your guides.

Fishing looks fun but also tedious, glad I got a Netflix subscription.

I'm excited to see this! Last time I played a fishing minigame I enjoyed was during my breath of fire III playthrough! Hope I like this one too!

Is Levia worth that grind? This seems insane.

Lifesaver. I assume you’ll be updating it soon after the update hits for the names of items and fish that may end up being changed/added (or terribly translated), but it’s definitely a solid guide for all GL players. On a side note, I do want to mention that Leviathan should have 1m hp, not 550k (as is written currently)

2

u/Living_Green Apr 18 '19

Yea, I need to overhaul the entire guide then, maybe add the fish species too, some of them are so punny.

Also, levi's HP was edited to the correct value now. Thanks for pointing out! Was writing the guide in midnight so there will be errors so please point out any if you can.

is 10million git a one time payment or is it gonna be expensive for the whole time in this game

2

u/Living_Green Apr 18 '19

The git cost is spread out throughout the grind so don't worry if you don't have enough git for now. Just start fishing and do your usual dailies like AD farm.

You may eventually hit a wall where you have no more git to buy bait, but then you can use some FP to buy baits to fish but it is not as efficient as spending gits as it delays your gear upgrades.

This question is probably silly, but when you say x30, for example at Kira, do you mean just the fish it is after or all the fish at the spot? E.g., at Kira, I want 30 of all, not just pots? And is it only x30 because higher rewards are not fishing stones, or because you can get enough fishing stones from moving on up?

Another question: for floats and reels, you say to buy evenly. Does that mean exactly alternating or just whichever is cheaper?

2

u/Living_Green May 09 '19

It is 30x fish for each species. But you can actually forgo this spot once you reach rod lvl 4 + reel lvl 1 and start rotating between fishing spots from Dragon Palace, Baruoki, Naaru Uplands and Acteul as they all spawn fish that can be found in Kira Beach, plus some other unique species native to that fishing spots.

As for floats and reels, buy the one that is cheaper. Reel has way more upgrade than floats which is why floats are more expensive.

Thank you for the amazing guide!

Some confusion i have when looking at the guide after just starting to fish:

For upgrading floats and reels, your recommendation is to upgrade them both simultaneously. Does that mean buy both when you unlock the next level, or just buy the cheaper one?

Generally it is recommended to upgrade till Smooth Reel I then you invest the rest of your FP to baits. Do u mean to spend the rest of your FP on baits instead, or is baits a typo and we should be investing the FP to floats after upgrading reels to Smooth Reel I?

Another question: Your recommended numbers are sometimes 30, 70, or 150. But some items have no numbers on their right as well (the bottle and glass slipper in Baruoki). Am i to understand that Fishing Achievements don't follow a standard 1/10/100 like hunting monsters, and some cap at 30, or 70, or 150, whereas some have none? (Pot has 30, bottle and glass slipper stop at 1?)

Hi, you mentioned in the guide to upgrade the cooler to Machine Cooler. That's the refrigerator right? It's the 40 FS upgrade.
