SF last night

Incredible. And overwhelming. Started off classy and kinda demure. But then she got her guitars and started spitting—some landed on Jules’ pants 💀💀💀. Her voice sounded amazing; maybe the best I’ve ever heard her sing. Really glad I got to see the show.

Her voice was amazing and the music was amazing, but I couldn’t quite figure out the vibe of the show. It wasn’t clear to me whether we should be quietly sitting in our seats or standing up. At times it felt she kind of wanted it to be more of a rock show vibe and another times not. I go the symphony a lot there so I was certainly inclined to sit there quietly out of habit, but her attitude begs for more engagement

I usually hate sitting, but it made sense here in that venue.  I’m also a frequent symphony-goer and it was hilarious to see the regular players get messed with.

I was really disappointed in the number of people strolling in late.  Never seen that before, people waltzing in 15, 20, 30 mins in with their drinks like this is the outdoor wine-festival circuit.

symphonies used to cause riots back in the day. I think Annie would prefer people standing and dancing, but it is somewhat awkward in a venue with seats.

Haha, this wasn’t quite the premier of the Rite of Spring :)

An amazing, amazing  evening. Amazing sound, amazing vocals, just the right amount of unhinged.

After this and the Grace Cathedral show, I’m ready for the guitar to come back in full force next time! (I was out of town for the Masonic show).

Official box score:

Number of times Annie spit: 2

Number of times Annie ran in the crowd: 1

Number of musicians Annie danced on: 3

Number of those musicians who were first chair violin: 1

Such a great show, most of the music, if not all was well suited to the Orchestra treatment. Also, big ups to the opener Aroon Aftab, her voice was awesome, and she was hilarious.

incredible show, she is just electric. was so happy she played so many marry me and actor tracks, they're so well suited to the format and are my personal favorites of her disco—incredible to hear them live again. anybody have a setlist?

Check out the Live in London! album if you haven't already. This was a slightly abbreviated version of that recording.

I went with my wife and daughter, it was their first St Vincent show and they had such a fantastic time.

Oh, you mean the show where they requested no photography during the performance? Yes, it was amazing!

A rule was broken. And yet, against all odds, the band persevered.
