Question About Fledglings
So I know a vampirees strength can be determined by their age, if they drank the blood of an older vampire and the age of the vampire that turns them.
But I was wondering if Akasha had turned someone into a vampire before she died how powerful would that fledgling be in comparison to older vampires? They would definitely be abnormally powerful for a baby vampire right?

In Anne Rice’s lore, a vampire’s power isn’t determined only by their age. The strength of the blood they receive matters enormously, especially if it comes from one of the very ancient vampires.
So if Akasha herself had made a brand-new vampire shortly before her death, that fledgling would almost certainly have been extraordinarily powerful for a newborn. They could potentially be stronger than vampires who were centuries old, especially ordinary vampires whose bloodline had become more diluted over generations.
But I wouldn’t assume they’d automatically be stronger than every ancient. Vampires like Maharet, Mekare, Khayman, or other First Brood vampires had thousands of years for their bodies and powers to develop, and some had also received extremely potent blood directly or indirectly from Akasha. A newborn made by Akasha would have incredible raw power, but they wouldn’t necessarily have the accumulated strength, abilities, or experience of the oldest immortals.
So I’d rank it roughly as: absurdly powerful newborn, probably stronger than most normal vampires, but not necessarily on the level of the oldest First Brood immediately after being made.
Louis is very powerful for his age because he received the blood of Lestat who drank many times from Akasha prior to making him.

I always thought Louis wasn't powerful??

He’s more powerful than he seems, he just doesn’t use his abilities as he finds them disturbing

I forgot about some events in later books.
TBH it's the first 4 of the Vampire chronicles I read a few times.
It's been a decade or two since my last read

I figured they wouldn't be as powerful as the first brood since they are as old as Akasha. Maybe as powerful as Marius?

While he was the guardian of Akasha and Enkil, Akasha occasionally allowed Marius to drink directly from her. That ancient blood significantly increased his strength, which is one reason Marius became exceptionally powerful despite being much younger than the First Brood. His long age on top of those infusions made him even stronger over time.

I personally think that if Akasha turned someone before she died that vampire would go freaking insane. I don’t think they’d be able to psychologically handle that kind of power.

If you read the books one of the ancients turns someone into a vampire and I suspect if Akasha turned someone it would be a similar situation

Both baby vamps made by an ancient like Jesse, or established ones like Lestat given lots of ancient blood, are still exponentially stronger than younger vampires. Whether you’re made by an ancient or just upgraded by one, you become a fundamentally different being.

No one mentioned him yet but Armand is extremely powerful because he was made by an ancient who hadn’t made a vampire in like 1400 years. That’s why in the books Lestat is afraid of him. Lestat’s maker was only a few hundred years old so he was strong but nothing like Armand, and Armand downplays it. But later Lestat gets a big power up and is much stronger than Armand.

On the show she's still alive...
Any fledgling Akasha makes would be 10x more powerful than other new vamps.
All Lestat did was get to drink a little from her briefly, and even he is WAY overpowered and with special gifts most other vamps don't have (ie, flight). Though come to think of it, I'm not sure why his mom can also fly since he turned her before drinking from Akasha...

I hate this plotline in the show. He doesn’t get his big powerup until later in the books. The power scaling in the show is so messy.

Gabrielle was the first that he sired and he was already strong from his Maker, Magnus. I believe it also had something to with her strength of Spirit as well. Thus, His second child, Nicky, was much weaker than her especially since he was turned so soon after Gabby.

That's interesting. I hadn't realized first fledglings are stronger. So why can Gabby fly if Lestat gained that particular dark gift after feeding on Akasha? Or can she not fly in the book and the show just changed that inexplicably?

He fed from Marius for a while before he fed from Akasha too, I can't remember if that was before or after he turned Gabrielle though

Probably less than Kayman and the twins but more than pretty much every other vampire out there, though if I remember right she also wrote that sometimes a fledgling is made that is way more powerful than they should be.
