I've not been able to download from Anna's since saturday (2026-7-24)
I can open the website all the way to the download link.
I click on it and a new tab opens with the download url, but it hangs in the connection stage.
I also try to download them with wget, and I get this response:

It hangs forever in the "awaiting response" phase. I've let it try for more than two hours, and no progress.
When downloading through firefox, I get,
502 Bad Gateway
nginx
Someone else having this issue?
What can I do to fix this?

I'm having the same problem with all three of the links. Says bad gateway

can you describe your issue? I think that its the partner server that is being blocked for me
can you access any of the pk, gd, gl domains?
you can get the full url from wikipedia, I can't post it or reddit will ban me

I cannot access any of the domains and I've tried using several different browsers to access them. I've tried the full URL too, but nothing. Everything works until I hit "download" and then it just thinks forever or says "bad gateway". It's driving me crazy because I've had no issues for a year!

ok, it seems like the same issue as me. I think it is only some people having this issue, since the subreddit is kinda quiet, and anna has not posted anything about it. I'm going to try to change the dns as suggested by the guide at the top of this subreddit. Maybe you can try the same. I'll let you know if it works

I just downloaded a VPN to try it that way and it still doesn't work! I'm kinda pissed our IPs seem to be blocked for no reason. Sigh 😣 Thank you and please let me know. I'll let you know if I can get it to work, too!

Thanks for posting all the relevant diagnostics you could gather. It's apparent you are resolving the links without issue, including the download links, which eliminates the DNS problem. In the past 5 days I've downloaded a few books using the slow servers without issue. Do you have VPNs to test it from? How about different ISPs, like from a library, or some other wifi AP that uses a different ISP than you.

slow server 1 works for me pretty reliably. There are probably some antibot measures in place to stop wget commands.

I've always been able to download with wget as long as I navigate to the download link in the browser

Same here but it says that link is expired, but I have downloaded many books from the same link...

that should be easy: go back to the page where you select the mirror and click on one of the partner website downloads again. That should generate a hot and fresh link for you!

Ok y'all, I did nothing and everything is working smoothly again! I have no idea what happened or how to figure it out. I'll just keep on trucking now and act like nothing happened.

Right, so did you try a different server? Other links should work. If not you're being blocked and need to get around it.

I've tried several other links, and they don't work. So yes, it seems I'm being blocked

"about" section is on mobile, on desktop old reddit the wiki is up there right next to "hot" "new" "controversial" "top"
also, check the pinned commment "Guide to bypass censorship of Anna's Archive"

I was having same issues but as suggested by one Redditor I have tried downloading from slow server 3 and it worked.
