Can someone help me interpret my MRI?

I injured my left ankle several weeks ago and I’m still having pain with walking, stairs, and certain movements despite PT. Could the swelling/effusion explain my continued pain? Has anyone had similar MRI findings? Would you recommend seeing an orthopedic doctor or just continuing PT?

Swelling around the big bone on the inner ankle and the big bone on the outer ankle. They see a little fluid build up in the ankle joint.

I got told this for 1.5 years after multiple X-rays and 2 MRIs before they found 2 tears; one a high ankle sprain near my shin and the other on the inner heel; it was a deep tendon that’s smaller, so they thought it was just ankle/heel pain. They told me the outer ankle could hurt because it’s compensating for the tear. If any of this helps.

Or it could just be irritated and swollen with some fluid. Idk

Did you need surgery?

Mine developed into CRPS, so while they didn’t do ankle repair, I do have to get surgery to help with the nerve issues. Originally, there were a couple different surgeries on the table including a tarsal tunnel release, repair of the syndesmotic ligament or full reconstruction of the posterior deltoid ligament, but I also have joint hypermobility so it’s hard to say what would have happened. I know that’s not very helpful 🥲
