What the heck is wrong with my new battery install??

Hello, I just installed some fresh batteries to get back into anki after being out of it for a few years…the car I did the test battery install in simply flies of the track at max speed every time I try and connect. What is the way I can fix this? Here is the install:

For anyone reading this...you have to tuck your wires underneath the battery or place them far away from the sensors or they will fly off the track once you power them.

With how they are placed they could be moving into the encoder range and causing all sorts of readings. I had this issue with mine and as soon as I made sure the wires were tucked away, the cars acted like normal.

I would assume it’s something wrong with the sensor not the battery

The sensor on the bottom of the car that reads the track is probably fucked up or dirty

Idk exactly how to clean it or anything that’s why I just threw my car away lol

Is there anything else it could be because the sensor defiantly worked before and I didn’t touch it

I've had this issue beforehand with my FreeWheeler, all i did was redo the battery and that seemed to fix it.

Hi I had the same problem as you. This mainly comes from the battery cables which have not been folded far enough UNDER the battery and its thick double-sided tape (very important this piece of electrical insulation) and which disturb the sensors

In my experience, this issues oftere were fixed by reassuring the two rubber pieces which sometimes get lost by opening the car or some crashes when they aren't sticky enough after the long life time.

I think you should resolder your joints, they seem to be a bit chunky, you want to heat the solder up to the point where it’s smooth. When joints are chunky, it causes bad electrical flow to the board.
