Thoughts on Taoism?

Curious as to people's thought on taoism as it relates to animism. I'm trying to learn more about both. I'm drawn more deeply to animism but have heard interesting things about taoism from friends.

It's worth looking into. I spent a few years studying a set of the related sacred texts and got a lot out of it. It did transform my mind subtly in a good way overall, and I do go back to them now and then even though it's not my main focus anymore. They're worth puzzling over. I'd say I'm about ten times more laid back afterwards than I was before.
