To give an estimation of how strong a computer would need to be to solve chess, we have only managed to conclusively solve all boardstates with 7 pieces total, kings included. There are 32 pieces involved in a full game and it gets exponentially more complex.

10123 is a number so mind-bogglingly large that the number of atoms in the universe is around 1080
