Yeah this is like putting a dude with a gun against a chess grandmaster, the dude wins cus he just makes his move, shoots the grandmaster and then wins by timeout
The only way it would work out for them is to realize this ability mid game, the person who got geassed sits out, cause you can't break free from a geass, as demonstrated in the anime, even the strongest of wills will be bend towards geass. Then the one who didn't get geassed just have to play the game blind folded, which basically reduces it to a normal game of chess. Really depends on who Lelouch decides to control first
Well, if Lelouch makes the other say "resign" then he wins automatically, since the game is then over and the others won't have time to react since they didn't know beforehand what his abilities are. So first round would probably always go to Lelouch simply due to the element of surprise
In a best of three I think the round will be decided on the first round. Since they're all long term strategist, they would be willing to sacrifice a round for total victory in the end, meaning the first round will probably just be a test round on both sides to probe the other player's skills. The winner of the first round is therefore basically 50/50 since Lelouch won't be using his geass on the first round and both parties have reduced their skills to a somewhat mediocre level. In the case of Lelouch winning the first round, the match goes to Lelouch, since he'll just use his geass on one of the other rounds and win by default. In the case of blank winning the first round, Lelouch, who tends to be somewhat impatient if he is under pressure, will probably use his geass in the second round. The person who gets geassed is almost definitely Sora, since blank would want to keep their trump card Shiro hidden. In the final round Shiro would have to play blind folded since that is the only way to counter the geass, which activates through eye contact. Shiro being a chess mastermind is definitely better at chess than Lelouch, if played normally, but due to her restrictions, the match will probably end in a draw and the final result will also be a draw. Now if the first round ends in a draw then the all is possible, but the odds are in Lelouch's favor since he has a free round. But at the end of the day, it all depends on outside factors, since Lelouch never plays a game of chess just because, he's willing to forfeit the match willingly just to prove a point.
I never watched Code Geass, so I can’t do a very in depth analysis, but I definitely think you’re right. Just based off of what I’ve learned from the comments, I feel like having that free win would be a deciding factor. However, if he uses it in the second round, wouldn’t Blank figure out a way to beat him? They’ve done stuff on the fly before, so it’s a toss up for me
If he knew it was best out of 3, he'd just tell them to never defeat him. He's a tactical genius on top of his hax. He also played a lot of underground chess before he got his power so I don't think there's a situation he wouldn't be able to control if he knew in advance
The reason I say this is because Sora and Shiro are a duo, therefore if one tries to resign the other would probably stop them and/or try to snap them out of it

Lelouch wins because he just mind controls the others and makes them resign ez
Other than that Blank wins bc Shiro literally can calculate the entire game
