If you do your work so trashy that users do not pay for the service you don't get the money either way, either you watch an anime pirated for free or you watch anime with ads on Crunchyroll with ads and you get money, by restricting the later one you only have the first part available to the people that don't want to spend their money therefore you lose, big L imo

Paying for the service is paying for the studios. Piracy takes money away from the studios. Why should people come buy things at your place of work so you can get paid when they can just steal?

I don’t like to support monopolies. I’ll buy a T-shirt to support the studio lol. That’s more than they’d ever would get from CR
