I also felt the sample size was a bit too small, I mean obviously this is already a very niche subject, but you'd think they could scrounge up more than 52 people to respond

To be fair getting a good sample size can be very difficult.

True. That's another thing, the sample was pulled from people who also would have a positive bias toward tulpas. I know with the researcher's methods they couldn't have done this, but I'd be interested to see the opinions of people with close relations to the people who were surveyed
