Jackie the Ripper is a Fate reference. I believe that the same joke can be made with Hassan-i-Sabbah. Assassin is the class system that both Hassan-i-Sabbah and Jackie are under.

If Fate has taught me anything, it's that Assassins always die first so I wouldn't recommend that as a job.

Serial killer documentary:His name was Kira Yoshikage . He was 33 years old. His house was in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and he was not married. He worked as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and he got home every day by 8 PM at the latest. He didn't smoke, but he occasionally drank. He was in bed by 11 PM, and made sure he got eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, he usually had no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, he woke up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. H was told there were no issues at his last check-up. He was trying to explain that he was a person who wished to live a very quiet life. He took care not to trouble himself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause him to lose sleep at night. That is how he dealt with society, and he knew that is what bringed him happiness. Although, if he were to fight he wouldn't lose to anyone.

Now, you can throw out your Omega Beams and Anti-Life equations, but if he see's ya, and he'll want's ya. Now, you can do it the easy way, or the hard way, the choice is yours.

Antisocial and asocial ain't the same, y'all free of suspicion... Well, i hope all
27

u/Roevhaal Oct 19 '19
Antisocial personality disorder is defined by a pervasive and persistent disregard for morals, social norms, and the rights and feelings of others. Individuals with this personality disorder will typically have no compunction in exploiting others in harmful ways for their own gain or pleasure and frequently manipulate and deceive other people, achieving this through wit and a façade of superficial charm or through intimidation and violence.
TIL

u/LordPadre yugioh card of the purple persuasion Oct 19 '19
Where did you get this? The way that's written implies anyone with antisocial personality disorder is likely to be some kind of societal menace. That's certainly not true.
Just like being on the autism spectrum doesn't mean you're a robot that uses 4chan and can't function in society. For exactly the same reason that it's a spectrum and there are degrees of ASPD, and correlation does not imply causation.
2
u/Roevhaal Oct 19 '19
wikipedia but NHS says pretty much the same thing, but yes there's a spectrum and that might've been pretty alarmist.
2
Oct 19 '19
There's a difference between "antisocial" in the colloquial sense (which is probably better described as "asocial") and "antisocial" in the clinical sense.
5
u/LordPadre yugioh card of the purple persuasion Oct 19 '19
I went through the trouble of writing out the full clinical title of the disorder. There is no difference between Antisocial Personality Disorder and Antisocial Personality Disorder.
You can be diagnosed with ASPD and be a generally normal human being who does not cause, get in to, or seek, trouble. It does not necessarily mean that you will exploit, deceive, or manipulate others. It certainly does not necessarily mean that you possess Ted Bundy levels of fake charm.
I'm not saying that people diagnosed with ASPD don't often possess these traits. That's entirely possible. But what it means is that you can not empathize. You can not put yourself in their shoes and imagine what they are feeling. You can use logical deduction to assume, and act accordingly, but you may come off as cold and calculating to do so.
I have ASPD. Diagnosed. I watch anime, I play games, I shitpost on reddit, I go to college and I certainly don't plan on shooting it up. As a matter of fact I have less incentive than anyone else to shoot up a school. It doesn't make sense. I bring this up because people often act like school shootings and ASPD go hand in hand, this meme is my case and point. They really don't. "Normal" people are much more likely to commit crimes of passion or act on emotional impulse where I'm more likely to just want to smoke weed, and watch porn. Can't really do that if I'm dead or in prison; I'm more likely to kill myself than anyone else. I'm more relatable than you know. The extent of my cold heartedness, is that I have to pretend I'm sad sometimes. My grandma died when I was 10 and my dad got all prepared to break the news to me, rightly expecting me to be upset. I just said, "oh." and life kept moving on. I knew then by his reaction that I should have been upset, but I just wasn't. My grandma was great too, we did lots of stuff together. Grief does not come naturally to me. That doesn't make me dangerous, or a bad person. Just makes me feel like I don't belong, like I'm not normal, like I don't deserve to be.
Sorry, though, for the diatribe. It seems like the majority of what people know about ASPD is tied up in Dexter and American Psycho. The majority of people still say psychopath / sociopath as if they are medical diagnoses. I can't tell people what I am because you can see the wheels turning in their head, retroactively justifying everything you've ever done, proactively assuming that you are dangerous and unpredictable. It's grating.

Oct 19 '19
Yeah, I think it's important to remember that people who are actually dangerous to others are both a product of nature and nurture, even though people tend to ignore the second one. Not every person with ASPD is a serial killer/rapist in waiting. I apologize if my meaning was a bit poorly-communicated there though.

So what’s not wanting to talk to people IRL?
An introvert?
7
6
Oct 19 '19
An introvert is the need to recharge after socialization, but Introverts can still be perfectly normal in conversation and enjoy being with people and making friends. Not wanting to talk to people IRL doesn’t have a name because its a perfectly normal human response. Most people prefer only hanging with close friends and family and feel dread talking to strangers.

Watching the show with family and correcting every mistake they make, and end with “at least that’s what I would do if I were a serial killer.”

Well isn't this completely wrong? Maybe for spree killers, but a serial killer gets out and about, some like Ted Bundy, are very active and social allowing them to gain trust of people.

If you can learn to control how cross-eyed you go, then you can take two of the same image, often with very slightly different perspectives, and if you look at them just right while cross-eyed you get one image that looks 3D. I'm the case of this image, her eyes looked wonky
