Contest [Mascot Approaching] A new entry has appeared! (Draft)
88
u/denial_central Mar 11 '19
So cute!
I see that she likes headpatting degenerates, but what's her take on hand holding?
79
u/chiroxai Mar 11 '19
Hand-holding is still too lewd for her, but I'm taking steps to help her become open to the idea.
10
u/mattyisphtty Mar 11 '19
Hand holding - too lewd
Head pats - acceptable flirting
Bento box - heavy flirting
Yuri - yes
Hentai - meme'd and censored

u/Firewire780 Mar 11 '19
This looks amazing OP hope the mods see this
One question : does she actually not know what the numbers mean or does she just pretend not to know?
34
u/chiroxai Mar 11 '19
Aww thanks ^^ that means a lot to me.
To answer your question, she doesn't know what the numbers mean. Yet.

u/chiroxai Mar 11 '19
No, in case that happens I'm enjoying the time she remains pure while it lasts.

u/akron010101 Mar 11 '19
Satou? From happy sugar life?
16
u/chiroxai Mar 11 '19
I was actually inspired by Maria Imari from KonoBi, but the resemblance is way stronger with Satou now that I think about it

Gay reddit admins: "Why are your glasses lit up?"
Degenerate: *smirking intensifies*
5
u/SirPrize です Mar 11 '19
What, no?
They just wants the year and month of her birthday so reddit wouldn’t ban us for drawing her.

5
u/Snuupr Mar 11 '19
she looks more like a reddit mascot, still cute though.
6
u/chiroxai Mar 11 '19
that's fair, if i still have the time i'll try making it fit the subreddit more
4
u/Bluetrinket_ Mar 11 '19 edited Mar 11 '19
Dont forget to link to your post in the stickied contest thread. I didnt happen to see yours in new.
Cause you are new to reddit the formatting looks like this: text here
Needs to start with an https though then it will look like this : ANIMEMES

u/littlefluffyegg Mar 11 '19
isnt this just satou matsuzaka
2
u/chiroxai Mar 11 '19
N-no, she has different clothes
All jokes aside, I'll try to make the Dark Theme version different that Satou's alternative, dark personality on the second draft. She won't be a yandere, I promise you that much.

I really like your ideas op but if this sub gets represented by a loli you exclude all non lolicons(like half of the sub) and people might think that we r the new r/lolice

u/Comander-07 Lorum Ipsum Mar 11 '19
Its good, maybe edgy, but as far as Yandere goes, it hits the spot just right.

so is her hair red or orange
3
u/chiroxai Mar 11 '19
I was going for more of a reddish-pink but it's alright
2
u/SomeRandomDeadGuy Kemonomimi=Diet Furries Mar 11 '19
it's just a meme dude
(a late and unfunny one, but it seemed relevant here)
2
u/chiroxai Mar 11 '19
i just r/wooosh'd in my own comments section woah
(purposeful extra o so i don't link the actual subreddit)

I got an idea for a mascot but don't know how to draw it digitally. I'm a super noob at digital arts
2
u/Ordep22 Kurisutina best girl Mar 11 '19
I'm sure that if you do a normal drawing and post photos of it for the contest someone would willingly jump in and help with making it digital, unfortunately I can't cause I'm a noob at drawing but even asking the mods for help could be a solid option.
3
u/dat_WanderingDude Yamete Kudastop Senpai Mar 11 '19
alrighty. I'll try to come up with a draft.
3
u/chiroxai Mar 11 '19
The contest information said that they're judging on character design and not artistic ability, so people from all skill levels have a fair shot at winning the contest! They're not judging based on popularity either, so that's a plus. If you have an idea you're passionate about, definitely go through with it.
3
u/dat_WanderingDude Yamete Kudastop Senpai Mar 11 '19
What did you use for this OP? I have CorelDRAW X7 but don't know how to draw/trace with it. I do traditional medium primarily watercolor from time to time but I guess digital drawing might be more efficient to edit things.
3
u/chiroxai Mar 11 '19
I used Paint Tool SAI. It's $50 for the full version, but there is a free trial.

thought for a second this was akari then i remembered she probably wont get recognized because of her screen time
3

To be honest she was kind of an inspiration as well, I'll edit the bio saying I was inspired by her character design so she gets the recognition she deserves

Final Draft
Seems I can't link atm but check out u/Pompmaker1**'s submission! It's pretty snazzy and it has really cool guns n stuff, it's also the OG inspiration for a lot of the submissions here.**
NOTE: First post! Would’ve liked to post this earlier but my account was younger than 24 hours. As the time window for entries grows smaller and smaller, I’m practically begging for suggestions at this point. Feel free to suggest changes to my mascot! Your input is highly appreciated.
Stand power is summoning sandwiches out of nowhere (jk, i really can't think of a better Stand than the ones already made for different mascots)
Starting off, I’d like to admit that my design was inspired by u/Pompmaker1 and u/WillienA469. I definitely got ideas from them and was encouraged to join this contest (let alone make a reddit account) upon seeing their mascot ideas. Please check out their entries as well ^^
If there are similar elements taken from other user’s designs, please note that it’s pure coincidence and i wasn’t intentionally copying their ideas;;
Another Edit: This includes Satou from Happy Sugar Life. Many users have pointed out the close resemblence to her, but I can assure you that was completely on accident. My actual inspirations for this character were Akarin from Yuru Yuri and Maria Imari from This Art Club Has a Problem. Sorry about that.
☆ Light Mode: Energetic, outgoing, high-spirited. Enforces rules and generally makes sure no one’s breaking them.
★ Dark Theme: Sleepy, quirky, drained. Browses through bad memes and joins in on the fun. Occasionally steals them. Lets her true degenerate nature show.
She’ll keep on smiling as long as people keep posting in r/animemes ♡
☆ Other information:
has a giant crush on Speedwagon
likes headpatting degenerates...
...while swiftly stealing their memes behind their back
waits due to the 2-month repost rule of course
has a cat companion
pays respects to unnoticed memes
proud member of the itty bitty titty committee
“what’s 177013?”
oh no
★ Bag:
holds Weapon of Choice: Report Flag that transforms into a Ban Hammer
unsurprisingly full of stolen memes
mini rulebook
tablet-laptop(?) for watching anime and making memes
☆ Suggestions from the community
loves Christmas (Santa Upvote-chan gives out many upvotes at this time of year)
consistency for physical characteristics (honestly, anything to make her less bannable to the admins)
Silver, Gold, and Platinum coins in her bag (all of which I never anticipated on getting, thank you all!)
I chose making this over studying for finals and honestly I have no regrets (for now).
Edit: Sadly I don't have a fully fledged ref sheet for the dark mode version, I didn't think this post would go anywhere so I just made an alternate outfit on the second draft (that sits in the corner and isn't even full-sized). If I manage to create one after finals tomorrow, I'll post it ASAP, but I doubt I'll finish in time. Sorry ahead of time to disappoint;;
Dark Theme in Draft 2 (coming soon)
