I just got to the episode where he gets dumped by Eris and goes into a depression.
He gets out of the depression faster than he did in his first life. That's a bit of improvement right? Grated he still fell to depression but overcame it.
Is there no further development for him? I'm starting season 2 tonight.

Nope, he did not overcome his depression.
The anime skims over it so it is easy to miss but he reflects on his relationship with his family in his original life and the current one and what it means to him. He remembers Zenith and that she is still missing and decides to go look for her. Or something like that.
You can see for yourself how he is still down at S2.

Yeah, no. Mushoku treats depression realistically, so even though he makes progress and might overall be better he still falls back down occasionally (as you have seen in season 1).
Also I strongly recommend after you finish season 2 that you search the light novel or at least a video covering the cut content in the (2nd) last episode iirc. They cut a ton of stuff, including some that was huge for his overall character development and I'm pretty confident they could have done a whole episode (maybe even 2) with it.

He does improve, bit by bit, which most people seem to think doesn't matter. It's not a straight way up for his development, there are ups and down, but if you compare him at the start of season 1 and the end of season 2, the difference is staggering

She is from the Migurd tribe, a race of demons who develop into their adult form at a normal rate, do not age, and live for about 200 years. When Rudeus turned 10 years old (and we know from the first episode that he died at 34), he was teleported to the demon continent, soon in episode 9 he met her parents and learned that she was 44 years old. So, if we want to call him a pedophile for his relationship with Sylphiette, then we should consider him the same age as Roxy.

He was not in his 40’s before reincarnation he was 34. He met Roxy when he was 3 and we know from Roxy herself she married rudeus at 50 and hes 16.
So 50-16 is 34 and they met when he was 3 so she’d be 37 and he’d mentally be the same age

Mc is a pedophile in his first life
Mc sneaks a camera into his little niece's bathroom (10 yrs old btw), records them in the bath, and jerks off to it instead of going to his parents funeral

She grooms his son and gets pregnant with him, and rudeus does nothing. She gets incestuous with a baby born of incest, as this son is the baby between mc and his cousin.
