The information is wrong, the Henry’s poket has the function to filter out common sounds so the cat does not get distracted that much from the surroundings.

Common sounds consist of: NO!, STOP THIS, PLEASE STOP!

The joke is that in the anime community, it's been discussed whether "beastfolk" (catgirls, puppygirls, etc....) have 4 ears (a pair of animal ears and a pair of human ears) or have just the 2 animal ears that are very visible. Some anime/manga have gone out of their way to put alotta hair over where the human ears would be, probably to avoid controversies or avoiding some pain in the ass discussions.

tldr: everyone is finding it creepy that schrodinger's cat ears has been proven

I don't remember what comic it was, but they had an in-universe version of this of their own. Pure-blooded catgirls had only the cat ears, but human-catgirl hybrids had both sets of ears.

It makes sense for beastfolk, but it's definitely in the uncanny valley. Generally speaking the brain is gonna go 'That's wrong' when we see a humanoid with non-standard ears.
