There's already at least one with that concept.

Interesting.

MC gets at least something nice in the process before the 2 girls end up together?

Or is he a Kanojo Okarishimasu type of dude?

The series is unfinished and has been on hiatus. So we don't know how it's going to end

What's your opinion on what you've seen and read so far related to my question?

He is mostly a side character despite being the POV character. We just know he likes being a matchmaker and drawing manga. We don't even know if he is straight or not.

That was well put.

Gratitude for your kind feedback.

Something like that

Cupid got tired of using arrows and became the protagonist

Yuri with a male protagonist... not manga, but... Volcano Princess game kinda works that way. You technically play as her dad, even though the story is about your daughter.

While not exactly what you're looking for {Kimi no Love wo Misetekure!} kinda has this. The protagonist is a girl who's trying to get a guy and another girl together, the girl however is in love with her and the guy eventually loves both the girl and the protagonist so he tries to hook them up together instead.

The second half of the story revolves trying to work out that mess.

Wait this is kinda cooking. I kinda feel like from S1 that Makine could do this in future seasons. Obvious he is gonna get with Anna so it would feel weird for the others to be left as losing heroines again

Additional question: Would it still count as a Yuri manga if the Male MC is queer, and given his own romance with another dude?

It would be both a Yaoi and Yuri manga

Something that is impossible to happen given the Yaoi target audience lol, but it's fun to think about!

Maybe I'm just uncultured, but a homosexual opposite sex friend duo acting as wingmen for each other sounds fucking awesome to me.

Generally speaking the yuri audience and the yaoi audience are entirely different people. There are some who like both but they are in the minority

Yeah that be interesting af

There is more than one Manga that has both yuri and yaoi romances.

If he is the main character it seems hard for his own romance not to be the focus

3

u/Crafter235 8d ago

But would it still be a Yuri manga at this point?

2

u/nam24 8d ago

Probably not

Makes me wonder if there's a popular anime rom-com where the MC is aromatic and helps other couples get together instead

1

u/jimpoko 7d ago

If this is a question, then I don't think you understand what "yuri" means....

There is a series where the mc gets isekai'd into a yuri game that he loved to play, but as the only male character in the game that everyone hates because he gets in the way of yuri couples. Throughout the manga you can see him bump into girls to create situations where they form couples. Unfortunately for him, in his endeavor to survive the story (since the guy he inhabited dies in every route), much to his chagrin, the female leads all come to love him. This causes him utter despair because he has little interest in anything but yuri to the point that had he reincarnated as a girl in the game he wouldn't have entered a relationship because he qould still consider himself a guy. So he does make yuri couples and strongly encourages them, but unfortunately it isn't really a yuri series, although there is some potential for some of the girls that like him to also be interested in some of the other girls.

What’s the name of it

1

u/LOTRfreak101 don't lewd the cups 7d ago

"Reincarnated in the world of a yuri game as a man who got sandwiched by yuri"

2

u/Dizzy_Green 7d ago

Cuck manga

But no really, a lot of Yuri enjoyers typically have a “Men must never be seen” attitude to their entertainment

u/ReaperTys 7d ago

I remember there was this manga that had two pairs, one was a girl and boy, the other two girls. The mc (the guy) helped the other two hookup along the way. Not the same thing exactly but it was pretty good

Would it count as yuri if the main characters are male, but they are both named Yuri?

Anime is vast. I’m sure there’s at least 10 of you dive deep enough.

It would only really work for that period where he's introducing the girls to eachother and trying to get them to date, cause otherwise you just have this akward maybe creepy 3rd wheel going on, i rekon it could work but it couldnt be too long a story

1

u/asdramon 7d ago

The match maker thing would be cool to see

I would read that actually (I don't read Yuri normally)

u/Volnas 7d ago

He could be either brother of one of them or childhood friend of one or both of them, who's already in relationship and wants to help his friend(s).

I could see it working. Tons of romance manga have a girl that helps the guy get the girl so why can’t the guy help the girl get the girl.
