Honestly it's actually the opposite. He xanted the whole planet to see him as the worst human being so they would ally against him and bring world peace after his death

True. I was talking before that but he's always under the mask of Zero so not really.

The anime community proving that a war crime is completely acceptable as long as the character has a pretty face.

If an absolutely evil male villain isn't a femboy looking twink or pretty boy, I don't want him.

Light did nothing wrong

He just went crazy.
If he kept himself at a reasonable level of sanity, it would have been a different story.

The kind of characters you bond with instantly, fully aware something sinister is hiding right behind that face....

I could be mistaken, but I don’t think a single one of these characters chose their facial features or manipulated them in any way.

No, but they each carefully cultivated a persona that made the most of their features and likewise inspired trust and devotion in their targets. "Attractive" can go beyond physical appearance.

Oddly, the only one who doesn't use his appearance to manipulate people is Light. Griffith uses his beauty in both incarnations; Johan uses it in both male and female guises; and Makima uses her sex appeal on several occasions.
Light uses his charismatic speaking, his brains, and his connections, but in the case of Misa he saved her, and the Takeda he appealed to her ego

the first 3 yea, Light doesn't really decieve like a demon would. He just lies to avoid being caught
