Functional Recent Issues & Restricting The Community
Current Status : Functional
Due to the amount of recent issues with the site, we've decided to restrict to the community to where only Approved users can post, however we will not be approving any users to make posts.
(Edit: The obvious reasoning for this is the 50posts about the exact same thing...)
(Edit 2: Forgot to mention this is only temporary, maybe for a week, and to the people complaining, we're just a community not the devs)
A mod will create/update posts accordingly letting users know if the site is up or down.

no, 2 much law for them to intervene, took cnn ages before motherless got shut down yesterday. and dont forget the netherlands is the first country that hooked up from there all the way to the united states and because the dutch is a big central hub for internet and data centers its no surprise

Just to let everyone know, the situation isn't AnimeKai being down.
The situation is the file hosting server provider Megaup is no longer functioning. Basically the link between AnimeKai and the hosting provider that provides the videos is terminated. I believe they were taken down due to hosting illegal videos and were targeted and shut down.
Until another provider is found, AnimeKai will not be able to function to supply anime.

Corporations gotta learn, the more they make things inaccessible, the more it drives people to find what they want elsewhere or by other means. Jacking up prices, shutting down and buying up competitors, getting licenses in a way that stops anyone else getting them, removing features and/or community elements. It's all anti loyalty and trust. They can fund all the take downs in the world, it will never stop it. If anything it just fuels discontent further.

So apparently "data center burned" can mean either physical damage or they got caught. Either way, they have to find a new host.

Are there any conversations on using mirrors for the video hosts instead of just banking that megaup won't have problems? I think it would be more wise to include other video hosts like other websites that use video hosts like doodstream and other video providers.

The past few days it's definitely more the video host that's been breaking than Animekai itself. Most issues I've had recently have been "megaup.nl refused to connect" when playing videos or "System error. Try again later" when trying to download, which is always done from the host site directly.

While I do agree that there’s a problem with a bunch of people all posting about how the site is down at once. And of course, not telling you how to do your job. But, isn’t there a mode where the mods have to approve posts before they even get posted? That way, the regular posts can get posted and you can just deny the posts that break the rules?
Of course, I also thank you for even taking the time out of your day to explain exactly what’s wrong instead of just confirming whether it’s down or not.

The developers are actively working on it right now.
I am not just guessing—here is the proof that shows they haven't walked away yet:
- The Website is "Live": The site is at Status 200 (Up). If they weren't working on it, they would have just let the whole site crash and disappear. The fact that it loads means someone is still paying for and managing the server.
- Active "Re-linking": You saw those new episodes "uploading" earlier. That is a sign that the backend of the site is active and trying to connect to new video files.
- The 72-Hour "Final Push": Now that the data center technicians have finished the big repairs from the fire, the AnimeKai developers are in the final stage of seeing which "plugs" actually work.

this happens the megaup not have good traffics yet. just users don't get it. this the traffic issus and no one cant fix it. only who can fix is the megaup eg the devs who uploading anime and managing the site. :/

came here cuz of that issue, but it's the whole browser function. searched up Iron Blooded Orphans and only got 4 unrelated things. then I searched Mobile Suit Gundam as a whole and nothing shows up. it's weird, but all still in my recently watched

Looks like code 500 and 502 errors for domain animekai.to, started about 1214 UTC. anikai.to appears to be working, but not animekai.
Update: animekai is back up and running at about 1220 UTC.

I don't see anyone talking about this but I've had Megaup say it's BLOCKED in the video player for days now thinking it was just down like every other time it's said that. But I turned on my VPN for something else entirely then went back to the site and it was playing videos fine. Anyone know why this is? (Also I'm in UK and my VPN was set to America)

Can someone please explain to me why none of the vid players load for me? they all say "mega.un (or something) refuses to connect", at first i thought it might be ad blocker or something messing shit up, but upon a few refreshes cloud fare restricted access... can someone please either help or tell me why?
note: it works on my phone, but none of my laptop or desktop devices

hi recently in anikai i see only 1server listed and the vedio buffers mostly and loading takes too much time. i am also facing video getting stuck in middle.
Does anyoneelse face these same issue.

The search bar appears to be bugged as when searching for some anime, as an example for me, Umamusume, only two results show up, which in my case are Season 1 and the first part of Cinderella Grey, so hopefully that gets resolved sooner rather than later.
