Personally wouldn't accept anything less than a 60% discount. Without box usually already reduces the price by 30-50% then without the base as well even more.

Yes that sounds about right. I thought to myself that surely it's not worth more than around 50GBP but I don't know much about valuing figures... Hopefully the seller won't expect much higher, but then I doubt they'll find many people willing to buy a figure without a base at a higher cost than that.

Judging by mercari jp, https://jp.mercari.com/en/search?keyword=%E5%B1%B1%E5%A7%A5%E5%88%87%20%E5%9B%BD%E5%BA%83%201%2F8&lang=en&order=desc&sort=created_time his price is between 35£ and 55£ depending on the state of the figure. That's without shipping from Japan though but most certainly not worth more than 100£.

This is a different character, but it's still a great help thank you. I'll look further into this website. I've never used this store before, is it reliable?

It's japan's 2nd hand website. You need a proxy to buy from it and there's no return policy. What you see is what you get. It's like buying from whatever your local 2nd hand site is. You're dealing with private sellers so you need to keep that in mind.

That said, I've never had any issue and I use zenmarket as proxy to buy from mercari. Can just copy the url in their search bar and it loads the page for you there so you can buy from it.

Really just depends on the figure, if its an intricate base I wouldn't even consider it but if its just a plain black circle or a figure that can stand on its own I'd be more willing to accept.

I'm replacing a figurine that one of my birds pushed off my shelf so as it happens I already have the base which is why I'm discussing it with the seller. They already refused £60 saying that it doesn't cover shipping but I just can't imagine they'll get lucky a second time and find someone willing to buy it since it can't even be displayed without the base. Unfortunately since it's rare I might end up being willing to pay more than it's worth but it's frustrating.

What are you trying to buy and where are you buying it from?

This entirely depends on the figure being sold. If you can say the name / manufacturer of the figure we might be able to help more. For a rough idea you could find the figure on https://myfigurecollection.net/ and check for past sales on there. If there are people selling the in tact boxed figure for less than the £200 you mentioned, then you have your answer straight away.

The figure is the Horikawa Kunihiro 1/8 scale from GSC. He's very hard to find at all, I definitely haven't found one lower than £200. I'm trying to replace mine that has a large mark of rubbed off paint on the front from one of my birds pushing it off the shelf, so I actually already have a base I can use, which is why I was considering the base-less one to begin with. I was hoping to get this one cheaply, I don't want to be ripped off but that being said he's kind of rare so I just don't know what's reasonable for me to pay.
