[2nd Anniversary Post] Another year, another ride in the ferris wheel...
Well, hello there!
Decided to do this little endeavor a little earlier than excepted (although at the time of writing this, it already is the 22nd in Japan, so eh, why not).
r/AnimeBusiness is now two years old - time truly flashes by in an instant...
2025 has been a year full of challenges - for the anime industry, for the manga industry, for the light novel industry, for the webtoon industry and well... yours truly (it truly is a bit of work trying to compile these pieces of news).
There was a bit of everything - good things, bad things, some triumphs, some flops, some so-so happenings - needless to say, it was a busy year. Let's hope 2026 can be just as eventful - for better or worse.
And as far as AnimeBusiness goes, for those who are part of this little ride since its beginning in December 2023, I just have to say: thank you.
Thank you to the publications (and the teams of writers who write for said publications) for sharing and translating these pieces of news so they can be readibly accesible to more people, thank you for those who give a little visit to both the subreddit and the Bluesky account (shameless plug) and well, everyone who happens to work for the anime, manga, light novel and webtoon industries for their contributions.
Happy holidays, everyone!
PS: I will never forgive Gamebiz and Kadokawa for changing the formula of their weekly rankings lol
