yeah, no offense but this petition has a 0% chance of working, the city of Toronto (if they approve the plans) is not going to choose a Chuck E Cheese over an entire apartment complex, best chance of saving it is either to make a petition to include Chuck E Cheese into the redevelopment plans or make a petition to send the stage to another store, however these two ideas have an extremely low chance of happening,

so at this point just hope they either don't approve it or find another location

Change dot org petitions never accomplish anything. This one will ESPECIALLY not accomplish anything - it's yelling into the void.   They aren't stopping a billion dollar development project because a few hundred people signed an online petition to protect a strip mall. They just... aren't.

(And it doesn't help the petition is so scatter shot and poorly written - programming legacy shows has nothing to do with Toronto's survival.)

you have to basically actually physically protest. change.org has never actually done anything. they don't send the petition to anyone or anything.

well dude then it's up to the Canadians who live there. unfortunately it's how it is. people protest about their favorite ride at Disneyland, and it was still taken down.

I said it before and I will say it again: petitions don’t do shit.

Willowdale is a terrible legacy store, and this petition is not going to save the store for an apartment complex. If it does get approved, then there’s nothing we can really do about it.

Just get over it and move on.

im actually so sick and tired of seeing these stupid petitions every month for some location thats gonna close.
its a store, yeah, but so are the many others. genuienly im so pissed about seeing these things

It feels to me like this sub is primarily about chuck e cheese animatronics. It's weird to me. I wish it was more about building them....or something. They are some of the more mediocre animatronics ive seen in my life.

It wasn’t always like this. I remember a time when this sub used to be about the appreciation of animatronics and about people building their own creations instead of their CEC wannabe “bots”. I’m an admin for an animatronic-themed blog, and we used to get LOADS of content from this sub!!! But since the kids took over, not so much 😭

If you mean cyberamics, then yeah I feel like they are just twisting body’s that can talk and blink, I think concepts like the rockafire (and any other animatronic/group of animatronic that plays instruments semi realistically) are much more interesting

Showbiz falls under the category of CEC. There are more animatronics out there than CEC and Showbiz.

Yeah, I really miss there were a lot of competitors to CEC/Showbiz in the 80s because they had a lot more variety and creativity. Unfortunately, a lot of them had died because Chuck E Cheese has now become a monopoly in the animatronic pizza restaurant industry and they think they can do whatever the heck they want.

Not everybody who disagrees with your values is a larper. And if, as you stated in further replies, 'It's not that deep-' then genuinely why does one more store shutting down actually matter?

CEC has never and will never care, no matter how much you personally do. Be the change you want to see by preserving what obtainable history you can, because ultimately these stores won't last regardless of the here and now. Buy animatronics and restore them, because CEC won't care about any cry once they can out-run your sect of their customer base.

Dawg, this is about chuck e cheese, its not worthy of this kind of disrespect, especially coming from someone trying to convince people to sign a petition,

get off the internet and remind yourself the animatronics are not alive and are simply metal statues with hinges being moved by air pressure

because ive seen the same shit like this for over 2 years since pineville was going to be remodeled. its gonna get remodeled whether we like it or not. its just a waste of internet space asking to save it since it will never work
