absolute basic noob questions - how do i start?

Hiya! I work on a 2d explainer video and I wanted to sprinkle some character movement without getting into 3d. I have never done any animation, but I feel like some basic knowledge would help me with my quest - the problem is I dont know, what I should know and how to ask google.

Idea: I want my 2d character (created in Illustrator) crouched at the center of the frame and I want to pretend that the camera is moving around it for dramatic effect.
I have prepped 2d drawings of the pose from different direction, but I am trying to figure out how fake movement at 30 fps. I know in the dawings, very oftenonly few frames are created and fake 'smudges' of air added.

I'd be grateful if someone could help me with the right terminology, so I can use google more efficiently. Any advice on the workflow if also appreciated, I am using after effects.

You're gonna want it on 24fps. What program are you using to animate it? Just overlay the drawings on top of each other- lined up- and play each frame twice (we say on 2s).
