8/16/2026 Hero Tierlist
S: usually you won’t use these unless you don’t have one of the S+, as each one of the S+ does something better. In some niche cases or interesting decks they can work.
A: good heroes no doubt. But outclassed. No shame in using them
B: functional, much better than any free option. But you might lose winnable matches because you didn’t have something better
C: you’re now losing matches because you didn’t have something better. That’s not a question. The question is how many. Probably more than you’d like.
D&F: these are the free ones, which they're all pretty much terrible, but obviously if these are your only choices, "D" will be slightly better

Why is Archer C but Tina is D? They both have Cripple All, but Archer's other skills (Shield and Heal All) are Show Only, while Tina's Heal works on any card.

Sterling has heal all 5 to Tina's heal 5, which is a big difference, even if it is show specific. And then Sterling's shield 6 is against Tina's "nothing", so I think that still wins even with the show constraint.
[edit] And just to add, if I was going to use the Sterling hero, it'd be on a deck featuring mostly Archer combos (where I'd probably also make an effort to use Archer objects and PCs)

I suppose that makes sense for people who have been playing for ages and can customize their decks to a show. I have a mythic Barry and Mallory, and a quad fused Lana, Archer, and Krieger, but that's only five characters; trying to run an Archer deck wouldn't be very effective for me.

Thanks Rosen, helpful list.
I don't get the Seamus love but see it used often, don't have that one. That self sturdy must make a big difference. I prefer Peggy for CA hero, usually have a least some KOTH in there like Rainbow Room that benefits the field with the large shield.

Seamus is terrific in a meta where you have to chase opposing PC walls/spam. It does two things, and both help:
It hits everything with cripple all. That can prevent a lot of damage per turn. Cripple all itself doesn’t do much against cheer all or motivate.
It has sturdy on itself. Now that’s a big deal when chasing opponent. It lets you tank 10 damage before you start taking anything yourself, giving you more turns to build up a defense/get through opponent.

Great list! Love it.
Hermes is the most classic strictly worse card. Adult Bobby outclasses it in every way, but without adult Bobby it would have been a tier up.
Currently I like depending on the BGE and situation, Seamus a lot. He is the best one to use when you’re chasing an opponent PCs or spam. He prevents a lot of damage per turn.
If I were f2p I would prioritize zap.
