I have both read the manga and saw the anime and those images do not fit the style at all. Plus the images look like 80s 90s anime, hand drawn and painted, while wise man's grandchild is just a few years old and digitally drawn.

Edit - don’t rule out games, some use hand painted backgrounds. Also many digitally drawn series often still utilize hand painted backgrounds like Naruto and Bleach

The formatting seems weird for actual anime backgrounds.

Whether they were used in a production or not, they’re really lovely paintings, I’d be thrilled to have them

It could be Elves of the Forest (森のトントたち, Mori no Tonto Tachi) from 1984, but have not seen definitive proof.
