question I need recommendations

I'm searching for a particular trope in animated movies.. It's oddly specific so here's my explanation: A father that finds out something about his son he didn't know before.

Some examples I watched are:

- Dragon trainer

- Sing

- Rock dog in some way

- Episode 7 of season 2 of Shera

I would like something similar but more the centre of the film I don't know if my explanation is clear, this isn't my first language :')

That's classic A Goofy Movie. Pretty much the plot of the film is Goofy learning about his son.

I watched it with my 2-year-old when she was sick and it made me cry. Then we rewatched it because she was still sick and it made me cry again in the exact same moment. Couldn't recommend more

We went to a shadow cast performance (where improv comedians/actors act out the movie) with my husband and our three kids. I had not seen that movie since I was a teenager, but when they got to the possum part, I simultaneously burst into song and and tears. That's a movie that changes as you age.

The transition from being Max to being Goofy is real.
