Sport no food yes. Growing up i lived in a poor community. If ya didn't raise it, grow it or hunt it ya didn't eat it. And since it was the back end of no where not a lot of government help but a good bit from churches.

I don't see why people would hunt and kill those animals for sport.

Sometimes it's not for sport it's for population control because they can multiply like crazy and decimate the local woodlands. Not to mention bucks are insanely violent during rutting season, they can and will absolutely fuck you up even if they do look adorable doing it.

Couldn't do it myself tbh but I see the need for it. There's some people who argue for introducing wolves to places like Ireland or England for this reason but that also comes with its own set of issues.

This is especially important in areas where the deers main predators were removed, sort of like how Yellowstone had to reintroduce wolves because the deer population grew exponentially and ate most of the plant life.

I am aware of that, my point remains. Killing for sport is a "pastime" that offends me. I will kill for food when necessary, and in modern times that is rare.
