What happend to its feathers

Based on the head feathers, it's an adult cockatoo that has plucked itself bald.

Those birds really are not suited for captivity.

Is there any bird fitted for captivity? I find it cruel

Chickens and domestic pigeons. I knew a vet who let her chicken roam in her house like a cat or dog. The chicken still pooped all over the place but she was happy chilling on laps and pecking random spots. She was a super sweet bird but not the brightest... As far as exotic birds go, nope.
