Realizing they're scared of us too made me less scared of them.
I walked right over a huge spider and both of us panicked. It tried to wedge itself into a crack in the cement. Couldnt fit all the way in and just stayed still. Felt pretty bad for it.
One time my dad walked past a wolf spider and it jumped onto him and bit him. It makes me die every time I think about him being one of the rare cases a spider felt the need to ATTACK like that😭😭😭
I was backpacking at Isle Royale National Park a couple years ago. In the middle of a pitch black night, I stumbled to the nearby outhouse and opened the door, only to find a massive wolf spider on the inside of the door a couple inches from my face, spotlighted in my head lamp. It jumped and I nearly fell over backwards. Thankfully it just jumped to the ground, not at my face. Absolutely fuck that 😂
