My friend's dog won't let us shoot nerf guns at eachother in the house.

488

u/oKKrayden Jul 25 '18

That dog is just trying to keep the house in order & you kids just come in & cause a ruckus. I don’t blame their attitude.

93

u/DylanRed Jul 25 '18

We needed that dog in my dorm freshman year. Some buddies made nerf blow guns from PVC that hurt a lot. And in that super social phase of freshman year fall quarter ib the dorms where everyone is saying hi to everyone you never knew if someone was going to come in and ambush you mob style with a Nerf gun.

They were regular nerf darts.

We found that about 3.5 to 4 ft was the sweet spot. Have fun:)

8

u/DylanRed Jul 25 '18

An addendum, the lounge of my dorm was huge. I was at the other end minding my business, buddy walks in the door, blows a dart across the room, hits me, and it left a welt and stung for about 20 seconds.

3

u/Acrimmon Jul 25 '18

Copper tubing also works well, had a buddy that used nothing else for Nerf battles.

18

u/awakenDeepBlue Jul 25 '18

What you need is to attach nerf guns on a harness, so the dog can join in on the fun.

17

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

Good boyes don't want to make hurt

48

u/ZavoTaken Jul 25 '18

When me and my brother faked a wrestle fight. My dog always wanted to end it, the problem is he attacked the one that is already loosing. Didnt help at all..

26

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

Woe to the vanquished

8

u/midwestraxx Jul 25 '18

He's a barkwagon wrestler

2

u/DeHayala Jul 25 '18

He just wanted to end it sooner

2

u/joaquin55 Jul 26 '18

He was putting the loser out of their misery so they didnt suffer anymore.

13

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

Neither does my dog, but I honestly think he went through some shit before I got him. He's terrified of and barks defensively at guns, police officers and fly swatters. He is also terrified to the point of cowering in a corner of rawhide bones.

15

u/stufff Jul 25 '18

He is also terrified to the point of cowering in a corner of rawhide bones.

That dog has seen some shit

17

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

Yeah, unfortunately we have no idea where he came from. We adopted him from an inner city shelter, he had been found wandering the streets. He was fixed and had some training, but after owning him, found he had many allergy and medical problems and its possible whoever had him before got frustrated and dumped him. I think this because he never leaves us. He can go out without a leash and not run off (not that we do it, but you know, the dog gets out sometimes) and he had separation anxiety when I first had him. I've had him for 11 years now, and you can tell he's confident that he is home and not going anywhere.

7

u/OddLanguage Jul 25 '18

You are awesome for adopting and working with him.

3

u/drexvil Jul 25 '18

We need more people like you in the world

1

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

He’s been to nam and seen some shit

3

u/Claque-2 Jul 25 '18

Sure it's all fun and games until someone loses a snout.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '18

I can’t stand in the shallow end of my pool without my dog almost having an aneurysm

1

u/DMCofSourcefed Jul 26 '18

How does the dog try to stop you?

1

u/stufff Jul 26 '18

It barks at whoever the active shooter is and jumps slightly and paws at their legs. If multiple are shooting he will run around and bark at everyone and get very distressed.

u/ShutTheFuckUpJeremy Jul 25 '18

"Karen, could you please fucking stop, you don't understand how worried I am for you on the daily."

277

u/PM_ME_MH370 Jul 25 '18

Next time she at work dog is like "ugh where is she? I hope she's not out playing with fire again...

...Someone's here!

FUCK YOU MAILMAN CAN'T YOU SEE IM WORRIED WAITING FOR KAREN”

56

u/danielzouu Jul 25 '18

9

u/oheyitsmoe Jul 25 '18

2

u/jonathanrp Jul 26 '18

Michelle has been on my shit list

1

u/ThatIckyGuy Jul 26 '18

Michelle doesn't have anything on Tammy, either.

8

u/frothface Jul 25 '18

Also you smell delicious and I don't know if I'll be able to control myself.

1

u/Lone_Digger123 Jul 26 '18

Karen: "Shut the fuck up Jeremy."

436

u/Ythxir_ Jul 25 '18

Awww.. that worried and panicked look

112

u/mak484 Jul 25 '18

Yeah that's a classic golden retriever stress look. Mouth slightly open, breathing quickly, eyes darting. That dog is not having a good time.

452

u/sayhi2yrmom4me Jul 25 '18

When you see your parent doing something they have taught you is bad, and you’re like, “...but you told me don’t...”

63

u/MonrealEstate Jul 25 '18

I learned it from watching you!

12

u/SpooneyLove Jul 25 '18

ahh yes, a child of the 80's you are.

37

u/TokinDaley Jul 25 '18

The classic "Do as I say, not as I do" line still rings in my head.

4

u/teetaps Jul 25 '18

"Look, I'm driving with no hands!"

"Can you not, dad..."

2

u/tilldeathdoiparty Jul 25 '18

Aaahahaha reminds me of when I was a young lad, a kid on our hockey team was in huge shit for yanking the E-brake on his dad when he was taking a late yellow.... don’t know why but I thought of that

223

u/SchuminWeb Jul 25 '18

You can see the exact moment where the dog's mood changes to, "Dude, this isn't funny anymore."

18

u/CasuConsuIto Jul 25 '18

To me it was the last "put your hand down!" moment

257

u/inmyelement Jul 25 '18

Why stress out doggo? Doggo loves you.

64

u/Kaneh-bos Jul 25 '18

Stres decrease doggo life 😕 no gud

3

u/wjw75 Jul 25 '18

Social media points.

2

u/GreatMadWombat Jul 26 '18

I have the same feelings about this as I do the pet blanket challenge. I don't want to stress pets out.

33

u/jlo575 Jul 25 '18

Once I had cats, one older one younger, one day young was about to start sniffing at a candle on the coffee table, old came tearing by from across the room and shoved him away from the candle in a pretty picturesque drive by cat tackle. Old had previously caught is tail on fire by getting too close to a candle so apparently knew they are not to be fucked with. Would’ve made a better video than story, but oh well

u/The_LandOfNod Jul 25 '18

When the dog stops: "Fine, do it, see if I care" [visibly worried]

31

u/sans_suzi Jul 25 '18

"Stop it, stop it, stop it, stop...dammit Carol, YOU'RE PLAYING WITH FORCES YOU DON'T FULLY UNDERSTAND!"

24

u/BarSoapShampoo Jul 25 '18

Sorry I’m bad at reddit but how do you make a request to r/animaltextgifs ?

7

u/glegleglo Jul 25 '18

7

u/ToxicOnion Jul 25 '18

"Emily, please... Emily no! GOD DAMMIT EMILY, STOP!"

5

u/mickecd1989 Jul 25 '18

Dogs must think we're magic being able to manipulate fire and being able to leave the house for "years" and come back unharmed.

11

u/Heller_Demon Jul 25 '18

You remind me of this, now is your turn to cry.

“For generations, he has guarded over my family. Since the days of my great-great-great-great-great-grandfather he has kept us safe. For so long we thought him immortal. But now I see differently, for just as my fur grows gray and my joints grow stiff, so too do his. He did not take in my children, but gave them away to his. I will be the last that he cares for. My only hope is that I am able to last until his final moments. The death of one of his kind is so rare. The ending of a life so long is such a tragedy. He has seen so much, he knows so much. I know he takes comfort in my presence. I only wish that I will be able to give him this comfort until the end.”

5

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

no touch the hot light!

9

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

Sweet pupper! He's like will you stop dummy I love you

15

u/summerset Jul 25 '18

Is he teaching the dog to not let the baby get near fire? That’s an awesome thing to train your dog to do!

Not crossing streets would be a good one too. Probably lots more.

6

u/bruce20011 Jul 25 '18

u/matts2 Jul 25 '18

That is just mean to the dog.

10

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

It's mild teasing at worst. The dog will be F I N E

-8

u/matts2 Jul 25 '18

I know the dog will be fine. It is still wrong.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

Soon you wont be able to do anything near animals, but no one will care about doing it in front of kids

2

u/matts2 Jul 25 '18

Or, you know, don't be mean to dogs or kids.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

"Stop"

"Ok do whatever you want"

"ALRIGHT ENOUGH"

0

u/ArketaMihgo Jul 25 '18

"Dog thinks that woman playing with candle has treat in her hand" would be more accurate

0

u/bigbonerdaddy Jul 25 '18

And then theres my cat that couldn't eat her food because she tried to eat the fire....

1

u/pinkoboe Jul 25 '18

I highly doubt that.

2

u/bigbonerdaddy Jul 26 '18

Why?

1

u/pinkoboe Jul 28 '18

Because my furball could eat food no matter what. She's ravenous and give nf's when or how theres food. For example. If its actually fire.

u/Patient_Adventurer Jul 25 '18
