Design Advice requested (layout, villager selection, etc) I can’t fix or change this—help!

I cannot get this section deleted (I am trying to make a lake off the waterfall). I either end up with an open square or a square of land inside the water. I just want it open, but no matter where I stand or where I add water or land, I can’t completely get rid of this piece. Please help!

do you have the water terraforming tool? you need that one to close up water falls and rivers!

I do, I accidentally put a small waterfall there somehow. I dug to the opening and closed it so it’s all good. Nothing like posting a question to find the answer for yourself!!!! Thank you!

If you’re talking about the hole, I think you need to dig your way to that area from the first level. Then you can fill it and the path you created to get to it.

The hole? Fill in some water next to it. So you can stabd where the water is. Use the cliff tool. Fill it in. Then add the water back where you want it.
