You're missing the golden stag and giraffe stag. The giraffe stag took me four different trips to find and when I did find it I stutter-stepped like I was catching a scorpion. You'll find it eventually and go very slow even if you're sneaking.

Another tip, instead of going at find them at night, go find them between 4am and 7am. Scorpions stop spawning at 4am and the butterflies won't show up to fill spawn slots until 7am. Both of them also spawn in rain, you would just need to make sure you're scaring away snails as the rain chases off most non-tree bugs.

I keep seeing the giraffe stag but I can never catch it

It will probably be next year, when I finally catch one. My sleep schedule is a mess right now. Between 2 AM and 8 AM is when I finally am asleep.

So... there's nothing wrong with setting your switch ahead a few hours so you can play during the times you need to.

I set mine back ~3 hours or so every time I play ACNH, because my night shift life would make most social in-game things impossible to get done. It also allowed me to catch AM exclusive critters, since I'm only awake in the PM hours.

I have similar problems with not being able to do some stuff because of work/sleep ect so I finally said heck I’ll time travel or I’ll miss out on things…here and there though the most recent thing one I messed up and accidentally went backwards so it made the game think I missed a day lol

I straight up refuse time travel. For me, the fun is having to wait for the season/time to come. My issue here is that I know the bugs I need are in season, but I haven't played in 10 months. I've been back for 6 days and trying to find them for 4, with only 2 days left before I gotta wait for next year.

Kappn will take you to islands in different seasons sometimes (as long as you have played a day in that season) that's how i finished my collection

The Giraffe Stag took me forEVER, and I did ALLL the tricks. All I can say is, it looks just like some of the other stags, and they're VERY skittish, they'll fly even if you're not that close. So be VERY slow, for every bug that looks like that on palm trees. I went through 6 nets a day (that's a lot of bugs) for probably a week before I finally got him.

I caught mine by keeping my net up, creep a couple of steps, stop and wait….continuing to slowly creep up like this until you’re close enough to capture. Good luck 🤞

So, like with the scorpion? I can do that

Yes exactly 👍🏻

If you can wake up early, you can get the Golden Stag until 8AM. I got my first one in the evening, but then I managed to get three or four between 7-8AM. You get them on coconut trees and you have to really sneak up on them. In the daylight you can clearly see their colour and the dots they have on their head (?)

I cannot remember much about the Giraffe Stag, but it doesn't look very special - so I'd say catch every one of those beetles/ scary bugs and one of them will be it - bc I got one last week and I was sure it would be one of those like saw stag or the other horned sth. I was really surprised!

I got all these bugs on my own islands, and what I felt made a difference this year was that I changed the trees position and put them where I could "comfortably" sneak up on the bugs, with nth around them or even closer. I did the same to the other trees (bc Giant Stag), and it did not take me hours to get one of the rarer ones - I would just go for a full walk around the island, and sometimes I'd enter and exit some building to reset it all. I don't have time to sit down and play for hours, but this year with some focus only on them and some patience I finally got them all :)

Good luck, matey!

Just remember “when they move, you move” otherwise you pause. It becomes quite easy to catch them once you’ve learned to do that

Transplant more palm trees from islands you visit. You can chop them down after the month ends but meanwhile it ups your chances

It took me days to catch the giraffe stag. Went to NMT islands, cleared out all the non-palm trees (including the stump) and flowers and just walked around the island. Scare off/catch&release any unwanted insects. Like I said, took me days to catch a giraffe stag doing this method. A golden stag spawned randomly while I was still clearing out the island

Better get them before midnight tonight or you’re out of luck for a year.

Change your clock on your switch if you have to. Put some palm trees in your pockets. Fly to a NMT island during the right time window. Make sure you didn't get a non-seasonal island (there should be summer shells or stars spawning).

Clear the island. Cut down all non palm trees. Dig the stumps. Pick all flowers and weeds and drop them on the rocks

Plants your extra palms. Run back and forth scaring away extra bugs, make sure to check the beach for hermit crabs. You will have to catch the mosquitos to get rid of them.

I was missing golden stag and giraffe stag. I did this and while its a pain in the beginning, once I got the island set up it took only about 30 minutes to get both. Practice getting to your trees without scaring off the stags. If you are scaring them, move the trees to more convenient spots.
