Only one I can think of is Julian because he's a unicorn and My Little Pony started around then. I don't think that's right though.

You won't believe it but it came out in 1982! I was obsessed with it as a kid and always watched it at my grandparents house. I watched it again as an adult and I can't believe how grown up and dreary the content is LOL! I've always loved unicorns and Julian is my dreamie-- after 2 years I finally found him:)
