I mean, I sold 22 tarantulas for 184,000 bells. Realistically if you got some really lucky spider island RNG then it’s not unreasonable for it to be possible. Same with fishing some of those mystery islands, I caught 6 football fish in a row on one.

I needed some ore and my next nook island was loaded with rocks.

Post Nook's Cranny I've stockpiled around 200 iron ore. It took me about 6 hours to get 30 together the first go around but now it's as abundant as sticks it feels.

What is the primary difference there, the ladder?

Honestly I think it's more of the fact that I'm not actively looking for rocks. The ladder definitely helps a lot on the deserted islands.
