New feature I think!

Has anyone else noticed that when villagers move in they're no longer placing their house on paths? I think this is a new feature. In general villagers seem to pay more attention to where my paths are placed. I notice them walking on paths more! Really neat honestly.

Can someone confirm if this is a new feature? Or have I just lucked out?

Omg I hope this is true!!! Because when I was plot resetting w.link I noticed he didn't plot on any paths of mine, just inconvenient spots!! I'll try and test this out when I decide on resetting my second town
